For the longest time I have been using 2 minutes for my post-padding.  Just last week I changed it to 1 minute, but noticed that all my recordings still have 2 minutes of extra time at the end.  Do I need to do something else to force this new post-padding setting?

That's the default. Did you change the value in each recording?

Oh OK. It's been so long since I've changed this I guess I forgot that for existing recordings, you have to go into each one and edit them. Thanks for the reminder, obviously I was assuming that anything being recorded after the change would be affected. Thank you.

OK I went in to my recurring recordings and am changing each one. Great! But, while there I noticed that Recording type says (All Episodes, All Channels) and yet the listing says "All New Episodes." So I change it to "New Episodes", hit save, refresh, and go back into the recording and it is back to (All Episodes, All Channels). No matter what I do, I can't get it to New Episodes only. Is this another operator goof?

Were these scheduled using the web app? If so, what option did you use when scheduling them? I'll create some the same way, then try changing the padding.

(FYI, I had a quick try here, but it didn't do it, which is why I'm asking how they were scheduled in the first place)

Honestly, I don't remember how they were scheduled desktop app or web page.  Now everything I schedule is done using the web page.  And interesting, only 4 of the 14 have this problem.  The screenshot shows the issue.  The summary on the LHS says "All New Episodes" while clicking on it displays All Episodes, All Channels. I don't know the impact of this, But I have been getting new shows.  When repeats start in May, I'll know if this is an issue!

It might be helpful for sub if you could make a copy of your npvr.db3 file and put it somewhere like OneDrive or Google Drive and send him a link. Then he could use your database to run in the debugger if he can't easily recreate the problem. (Or to see how the recording entries in the database look similar and different.)

It's because it is All Channels there is no option for new only. I think you can set it from Kodi though.

Brett thanks but with Martin's reply, and after experimenting a bit, I see the issue. Somehow the scheduled show was saved using all channels. Once that is set that way, there is no way to update to a specific channel without deleting it and re-adding it from the schedule when the show is back on the schedule. All my recently added recordings in the schedule have a specific channel so I am able to select New Episodes only for these new schedule additions. Therefore, this issue can be considered resolved. Thanks to everyone for guiding me in the right direction for scheduling shows and updating the scheduling parameters.
