Last night my wife and I were watching 24 while it was recording. We started watching it about 30 minutes after the recording started.

Once a commercial came on, I hit the forward skip button a couple of times to skip past it, and suddenly I was about 20 minutes aheard in the program, and shortly after that, I was at the end of the program.

I cancelled out of the recording and restarted it and the same thing happened, so finally I just used the FF button to get me where I wanted to be.

Later on in the evening, we were watching CSI (while recording) and the same thing happened.

Is there a known issue with skipping around inside of a recording while it is still being recorded?

I get the same thing, so I just use the FF and RW like you did. I assume that it can't keep track of where to junp to since the file is getting larger while you are watching it. If it is 15 minutes underway when you start watching, then 20 min later, you hit <skip>, it thinks that you are already past the end of the file.

That is my impression......
3x MVPs (not used anymore)
XBMC
Hauppauge 150 via SVideo
Comcast Digital Cable
Motorola HD Cable box channel changed via Firewire
Vista Home Premium with RDP hack

My only problem which I going to try out with W2K3 which is being installed right now to fix the GBPVR MediaSever problem under MCE 2005 also experienced audio out of sync if I go FF and then go RR on the remote.
Yes I use comskip, but that is irrelevent since the recording has not finished yet.

Yep, I think so too. Something is squirrly with the way that GBPVR keeps track of it's current file position when the file is constantly growing. I'll continue to use FF to bypass commercials when watching a current recording.
