Add individual "Station" to DVB-S channel list

Hi All

Is it possible to add an individual channel to my existing satellite set-up/

Specifically I would like to add Film4.
Apparently it's comes out of Astra 28.2e -10714H 22000 5/6
BUT
I have done a number of scans and all I have come up with is Film4+1 on 10936000 V SID:21200
(which incidentally includes an audio description which I would like to turn off)

Is there a way this can be done?

Have you upgraded to 6.1.1 I hate having to ask since that would be in the logs if you had sent them.

You need to be able to scan it. Best solution would be to capture a full mux on the frequency it is on and we can see why NextPVR isn't finding it. I can help you with that If you don't know to do it.

The client is responsible for selecting audio, so that would (I guess) be for Kodi.

Hello Martin,
Yes, I have upgraded to 6.1.1. Did that without hiccup last night before having another try at finding Film4.
Which involved scanning all the channels on Astra 28.2e (more than once) but not finding Film4 - OK Film4+1 is there.
I expect you can see this from the attached log(s) but if not below is what I have saved.[attachment=5901]

I admit I do not fully understand what I am doing and would be grateful if you could help although if you can point me to somewhere that I can read up on the topic I might be able to answer some of my own questions.

begs me to ask for you to zip /var/opt/nextpvr/adapter0-DVB-T.conf and npvr.db3 and send them to us. If the zipped file is over 2MB then you will need to PM us a link somewhere.

However I don't see a scan after you update to 6.1.1 and there were scanning changes. I know it is a pain but I think you need to scan again first. There didn't seem to be any of these scanned on 10714.25

I think you popped that last line in whilst I was off looking for the two files you requested.

I need to get off the computer for tonight. I'll do another scan when I pick this up again tomorrow.
(Although I did do one last night after updating. I remember the scan taking a long time and waiting for it to finish before I shut down for the night)
I think I only added CBeebies UK and as it would not work I deleted it. (I only wanted for the grand-daughter who is coming to stay!)

Sorry I noticed the missing scan later.

Store this file as 41.conf in /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s and just scan the one frequency to save some time.

Hi there.
This evening I did a full update to the ubuntu OS then a restart.
Added the 41.conf.
First off I did a full scan of Astra-28.2E. Which resulted in at least 580 stations (sorry I did not spot the final total before the output switched to display the results)
Film4 was not amongst them; double checked, definitely not there on the web interface.

Next was a scan of 41.conf on it's own.
Nothing - no results- zilch!
checked the 41.conf file. all looked good, right permissions etc. Same as lines 351->360 in usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/Astra-28.2E
Also stopped and restarted nextpvr server & rebooted. still nothing comes up when scanning "41.conf"

I have zipped up the latest npvr.db3+adapter0-DVB-S-channels.conf+adapter0-DVB-S-channels-scan.conf
and sent them by the same method as last night. link by PM

I note Film4 appears in both of these config files.
Line 1594 in adapter0-DVB-S-channels.conf
and
Line 9764 in adapter0-DVB-S-channels-scan.conf

I wonder if the above will throw any more light on this.

Yes there is a second Film4 but that is an encrypted signal and it can be ignored. You probably didn't need to do all that since we are trying a single frequency. Let's try a manual scan in Linux

sudo service nextpvr-service stop

dvbv5-scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/41.conf

If that locks let it run through and zip and send dvb_channel.conf (no need to PM me unless I need the db again and I don't that is an issue)

If it doesn't lock you need to work on getting a better signal.

It's currently a dual LNB I have on the dish.
One 'channel' is connected to the Hauppauge and the other to an old Edision unit on which I can receive Film4 (10714250) with "level" at 90% and quality 86%.
So possibly not a signal issue.
I'll try the manual scan tomorrow and send the config file.
