Is there a setting in Config that allows setting the transition time between pictures when using the slideshow feature (i.e. setting the time it dwells on a picture before moving to the next)?

I thought it may have been <SlideshowDelay>8000</SlideshowDelay> but changing that doesn't seem to alter the time it dwells on a picture.

The current dwell time seems fixed at about 8 seconds and I would like to increase that to 12-15 seconds

Since the default is 5 then the setting is working. Are you sure you are changing the correct config.xml for v6 or v4? If so send the zipped logs showing it run but make sure not to touch the mouse or keyboard to get the full time.

My new system is now in situ and the old V4 system disconnected.
I'd changed the setting from 5000 to 8000 then tried 15000.
Rebooted every time and the photos still change every 7--8 seconds.
I'll see if I can capture a relevant log of the event and post later

I've had a few other challenges to sort out with the new build  Rolleyes

The looks show the transition time. You shouldn't need to reboot.

As a test I changed mine to 15 seconds this morning and saw this.

2023-04-21 10:09:15.114 [DEBUG][1] Element not found: /Skin/Element[@name="SlideshowPosition"]
2023-04-21 10:09:30.149 [DEBUG][1] Element not found: /Skin/Element[@name="SlideshowPosition"]
2023-04-21 10:09:45.160 [DEBUG][1] Element not found: /Skin/Element[@name="SlideshowPosition"]

Zipping the log from the Settings web page and attaching it is all you need to do.

Interesting.
I don't see that error in my logs

Starting the client after a fresh reboot and leaving to go into the NPVR slideshow the whole of the NPVR log is:-

Did you start the slideshow with the play/ctrl-p that might be the screen saver you are seeing.

Sorry for being confusing.
Yes it's the picture dwell time in the screen saver I'm trying to adjust. It's set to random photo.

I did think it would just be using the slideshow settings but I guess I'm wrong

I don't recall a setting for this, but I a pretty sure it was always 10 seconds. Maybe you were using SSPlus by ACTCMS with v4?

I've fixed an issue with the slide show in Pictures screen, where the first item would display for 5 seconds, regardless of <SlideshowDelay> setting. (subsequent pictures were already showing for the correct duration)

I've also modified the Random Photo screensaver to use the <SlideshowDelay> setting for the duration of how long each picture is displayed.

Thanks sub saves me asking for it at a later date Smile
