Martin,

I understand how to start the tray app for the accounts.  Wink

My question was related to the fact I believed the original tray app could only be run once per system

I know Sub made a change to allow multiple instances i.e. allow multiple connections from different PCs.

I was trying to identify what would be the correct startup settings to run two instances simultaneously on the same PC (under different accounts).

Ray,

I believe that you misunderstood the change that sub made. It wasn't a change to NextPVR server to allow multiple connections from different PCs. It was a change to the tray app to allow multiple copies of it to run on a single PC and make connections to different NextPVR servers (by using the "-multi" parameter when starting it). That way the original requestor could monitor multiple NextPVR servers from one monitoring PC.

I'm guessing that your use case is just a variation of that use case with multiple copies of the tray app running under different user sessions on the same Windows PC. Have you tried adding the "-multi" parameter when launching the tray app in your situation?

Martin,

Thanks for the clarity. Yes I had not understood the change.

I'd so far only got one instance of the tray running at a time. i.e. only one or other account showing the tray but not both simultaneously.

I'll have another play with it.

It was BrettB that responded and you will have to add -multi to each instance in the next build of NextPVR. I am not sure if this will stay after updating NextPVR either.

Another annoyance unless sub has changed it is this keeps the machine running multiple instances awake even if there is no server recording on that PC.

It uses a local mutex rather than a global mutex, so you should already be able to run one per user.
