Hi,
I am very frustrated with my current setup (4 DVB-C tuners with tvheadend on a linux server) an the clients.
Solution 1 uses MRMC, an app which seems to be abandoned and forgets PVR settings every second day
Solution 2 uses tvhclient directly on tvheadend, but using the arrows on my Logitech Harmony remote will
increase/decrease speed only and this is more or less unusable. No chance the developer changes
this to some other method like skipping.
I read a bit in this forum and found out that there was a lot of discussion about the original Apple remotes and
their clicking/touching behaviour when using the edges. Honestly I am now a bit lost how the app on tvOS is
handling that today.
Did anyone tried out how a "normal" remote would behave with the client? I prefer knowing in advance before
I pay for the app and are even more frustrated. What I can say is that when I use the original ATV4 remote
and touch at the edges, it behaves exactly like when I use the four arrows on the Logitech remote. No idea
what the Logitech sends when using the fwd/bwd keys.
I already set up a nextPVR docker image and it seems to work, beside that it always wants to transcode which
my server isn't capable of. But I understood Apple TV will use direct streaming.
Thanks,
Carsten.
