Hi all,

I've been using XTeve and TVHeadend with my Emby server but have decided to give NextPVR a go to see if I can streamline the experience. Channel playback is working great, but the m3u export does not contain the group tags like TVHeadend and Xteve. I'm using the standard URL Http://127.0.0.1:8866/service?method=channel.m3u

Is there a way to add groups to the m3u file?

Thanks

If you are using NextPVR for playback why do you need to export them?

Hi Martin,

To be clear, Emby will remain as the viewer. The channels are being exported to Emby.

Thanks.

Gotcha, wouldn't it be better to ask Emby to improve their IPTV experience or NextPVR integration?

NextPVR integration is an option. Every other service I have extracted an m3u from (various IPTV source and editors, XTeve, TVH, etc) have included groups in their export, so I assumed there may have been an option to do this with the nextpvr export. I'm guessing not.

I don't think improving the Emby IPTV experience would fix this as the groups aren't reported in the NextPVR m3u (group-title=) like with other services.

Thanks

Sorry you mentioned xteve I thought you were using IPTV in NextPVR, so I suggested using and IPTV directly in Empy. If you are using NextPVR tuners then definitely integration is the way to go. You can even use the Emby guide data.

xteve and TVHeadend don't have their own clients to support so it makes sense for the them to make services available.

I've added this for the next release. (but it'll only do this for user's that have donated to the NextPVR project)
