New user in the process of setting things up. Doing lots of searching but having trouble finding some topics. I'm not sure if that is because these things don't exist in Npvr or because I'm not looking in the right place.

For testing, I am on a single win10 pc directly tv attached with server and using the browser client. hdhomerun tuners and plutotv extra. All of that is mostly working. Some challenges with pluto but that's still in the testing phase.

Issues I'm have trouble finding info/discussions about:
Remote control setup/control/tweaking - I do the more involved setup things with keyboard-like devices but would hope to use a more simple remote (mostly) once setup. I have rc6 remotes that are used with wmc/kodi. Npvr recognises a (very) few things but not necessarily as would be preferred. For example, the stop key does a pause rather than stop, etc. Bottom line question, does Npvr have a way to do remote control configuration and if so where do i find this type of setup/tweaking info or discussions?

If I'm simply being thick and not looking in the right place, please point me to a good starting point. I'm more than happy to read and discover.

Thanks much!

The web app isn't intended to be driven by a remote or keyboard. It's really designed for a mouse user.

The nextpvr.exe app, or various ui clients (nlite, uidroid etc) are the type of interface intended to be driven by a remote or keyboard.

Are you talking a remote for a browser window or real PVR clients?

There are lots of discussions here on various clients and the historical v4 info is still valid. The browser is not a PVR client so I wouldn't expect it to support a remote.

OK, perfect. Thank you both!

I'll start reading about the different clients.

FYI, NextPVR.exe was installed with NextPVR, and created a shortcut called "NextPVR Client". Chances are you can just run that (though you might need to install audio/video decoders - https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters...taller.exe).

Not meaning for you guys to keep needing to respond, just an observation -

Something i read on one of the clients gave me the impression that the non web client was either deprecated or less capable then the web client. Maybe that only pertains to setup or I may just have not understood.

Yes setup used to be via NextPVR.exe and now it is via the multi-platform web setup. Sub was going to rewrite NextPVR.exe but thankfully he changed his opinion keeping UI clients alive for many more platforms than ever.

No, that's not correct. They're different types of clients for different users.

NextPVR.exe is probably the most capable client, but configuration is done in the web app these days (since it's the only UI available on all platforms)

Thanks for the link, you made my day. If I face any issue, I will ask by starting my own thread. I appreciate you for the link. Greetings, scholars! In my essay, writing service search https://customwriting.com/assignments.html became my trusted ally when assignments seemed like an insurmountable academic Everest. The experience was not just good; it was fantastic. So, if anyone out there is on the hunt for reliable assignment support, my suggestion is to check them out. Your academic journey might just find a smoother path.

Additional startup questions:

1) If there is a spot I should be reading to get these types of answers just let me know
2) If it is preferred I start a new thresd,LMK that as well

Transcoder - Is there more granular control available? EG Only transcode mp2 or only transcode from certain sources, or only transcode after certain age?
I can certainly use mcebuddy to do these tasks if that's a preferred method.

Windows app client - Is access to (pluto) VOD available? See it on web app but only (pluto) guide entries in app.

Saw mention of jellyfin client on another thread. Is that one I should explore for full integration?

Thanks again!
