i keep pushing blue to show me how much longer of a movie i have to watch during dvd playback, which of course takes me to the main menu.
so how about this

go = dvd menu
blue = osd (just like the rest of gbpvr)
green = subtitles (also show "English", "French", "Off" etc, it can be annoying if there are like 20 subtitles and you dont know which one you are on).
yellow = audio track (i like to listen to directors comments during some scenes etc + also show "English" "Commentary" etc).
Play+skip = next chapter
play+replay = prev chapter

also im not sure if this is possible, but if i zoom in to a 2.25:1 movie to get rid of the black borders, the subtitles for somedvds are cut off (ie they are shown in the black border) sub can you have any control of this? or is this part of the dvd and no way around this?

i have to say, i wish the controls for the dvd playback in gbpvr were actually like that of a dvd player remote. i mean push menu for the dvd menu, track forward for next chapter etc - no fancy stuff. this stuff should be intuitive, not requiring a "cheat sheet". although i realize sub is going for program uniformity, i think that dvd playback deserves to be an exception.

also, how are you zooming in?

the skip use to be next chapter, but thats a real pain if you watching a movie with only 15 chapters (which quite a few movies only have) skipping to the correct place can take a while. the skip/prev for skip n minutes is really good, i prefer it this way, just some of the other controls i would like redesigned.

I agree with reven that the skip buttons are great for short skips.
I suggest that the CH+ and CH- buttons on the remote would be used for next/previous chapter. Is that possible?

yeah that would be good, ch (could be considered short for chapter, so easy enough to remember).
great idea mlanglois Smile
