Help With Hauppauge PVR150

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone can give me some insight on how I can get GB-PVR to record in VCD format (352x240 MPEG1 NTSC) as I do not see any of those resolutions listed when I go into Quality Profile Settings.

Sorry for the newbie questions but I appreciate the kind help like always.

PS the reason I would like to be able to record directly to VCD format is then Nero will not have to re-encode if I decide to burn the video file.

I've never recorded anything as a VCD, so I've no idea if this will work, but you could try editing the direct.ini file, and setting one of the recording profiles to the following:

VideoResolution=2
OutputType=11
BitRate=1150
AudioSampleRate=1
AudioBitrate=11
AudioOutput=0
BitRatePeak=0
AudioCompression=11

With those parameters will my video output will be the same as 352x240 MPEG1 NTSC then?

No, it will be 352x240 mpeg-2.
Hauppauge PVR cards cannot do mpeg-1.

OutputType=11 forces the Hauppauge driver to produce a VCD compliant stream, including MPEG1. ....but, I can only confirm this works with the PVR250/350. It may not work for the PVR150/500.
