See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I think there has been three of four occurances of this in the past.

One user said:

Quote:Well I un-installed then re-installed .NET Framework then did a re-installation (repair) of GB-PVR and the error is GONE !! It had something to do with Framework.
.

Use the search button if you want to find out more.

Thanks. I did look around here, but I didn't see any ref. to it in the support forum. Sorry for the repeat. I'm uninstalling .NET now.

I uninstalled .net and the .net hotfix.

I reinstalled .net (1.1) from windowsupdate.microsoft.com.

I REPAIRED gb-pvr. When I click on OKAY in the config program I get an error, and here it is...

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

Maybe this would be another clue.

When I try to watch LIVE TV I get...

Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it

I am using the Haug PVR-150. The WinTV 2000 software works just fine.

My WinXPPro Event Viewer says...

The GB-PVR Recording Service service failed to start due to the following error:
GB-PVR Recording Service is not a valid Win32 application.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Try uninstalling / reinstalling GB-PVR. It sounds like something is quite broken with your installation.

Search using the quoted term "Cannot start service GB-PVR Recording Service on computer" to find past discussion. I know nothing more about this problem than what is discussed in those posts.

Thanks for the reply.

I uninstalled GBPVR. The directory was still there C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr, so I renamed it and installed gbpvr.

I configured gbpvr, leaving everything as default with the exception of the "recording source". Then clicked OK. GBPVR recording service failed. Same error(s).

Right now it is busy updating from Zap2It, but I suspect I have the same problems as before.
