When I press Ctrl-K GBPVR starts recording in DVD-mode. When I stop the recording after 3 minutes after pressing ESC or Ctrl-S, I notice that there are 3 files (*.mpg) created in my video directory. All these files apear to be 60 seconds long, and apx. 40MB in size.

What I try to figure out is why GBPVR is splitting the video files in chunks of 60 seconds. Why does it not create 1 big file of 120MB? :confused:

I'm using Windows XP Pro (Clean install, .NET 1.1, DirectX 9.0c), Hauppauge 150 MCE, using the latest drivers from Hauppauge, and I use 2 harddiscs with each more than 150GB free space.

I saw other threads dealing the same issue, but without any solution.

Any help would be very welcome.

cheers, Mike

Email your logs to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

I assume youre running the most recent version of GB-PVR?

Hello again,

Thanks for your very quick reply.

Attached you find 4 logfiles after recording 90 seconds. After 60 seconds, the TV signal freezes for a few seconds because it restarts the recording.

Also very strange is - after making a recording of 10 minutes - that when I watch the chunks that were created, chunk 2 (from 60 to 120 seconds), chunk 3 (120 to 180 seconds) and all other later chunks (4 and up) are dissappearing spontainiously within a few seconds from my filesystem !? :eek: :confused:
Only the first chunk stays on my filesystem after watching it.

Is Microsoft Windows XP fooling arround again?

I'm using the GBPVR that I downloaded last saturday (version v0.92.11). I installed my Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE tuner last thursday and downloaded the drivers and patches from the Hauppauge site.

Here are 4 new log files. In all those logfiles I see clearly that the recording is restarted every minute: each apx. minute (64 seconds) a pattern in the logfiles is repeated.

In the GBPVR.exe-native.log
06:47:03.218 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playFile() done
06:48:14.453 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playVideoFile(D:\My Documents\My Videos\TV-1-420050701_0648.mpg)
06:48:14.468 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playFile() done
06:49:18.546 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playVideoFile(D:\My Documents\My Videos\TV-1-420050701_0649.mpg)

In the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log
6:48:05 AM.078 VERBOSE (232) Stopping recording oid:1
6:48:05 AM.578 VERBOSE (138) SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()
6:48:05 AM.843 VERBOSE (232) recording started
6:49:07 AM.078 VERBOSE (138) Stopping recording oid:1
6:49:07 AM.578 VERBOSE (267) SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()
6:49:07 AM.812 VERBOSE (138) recording started

And here is the logging of deleting the chunks 2, 3 and up (also in the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log):
6:53:29 AM.515 VERBOSE (26) Checking if GB-PVR can remove: D:\My Documents\My Videos\TV-1-420050701_0648.mpg
6:53:29 AM.515 VERBOSE (26) LiveTV file removed: D:\My Documents\My Videos\TV-1-420050701_0648.mpg
6:53:30 AM.531 VERBOSE (26) LiveTV file removed: D:\My Documents\My Videos\TV-1-420050701_0649.mpg
6:53:31 AM.531 VERBOSE (26) LiveTV file removed: D:\My Documents\My Videos\TV-1-420050701_0650.mpg

So, any idea what is happening?

I didn't install Hauppauge's WinTV before installing GBPVR: could this be the problem?
I overrided the TV channels/frequencies in the Windows registry: I can't believe this is causing this problem.

I hope you will take another look to the logfiles.

Unfortunately there is still nothing obvious in the logs that could be causing this. (no unexpected messages or errors)

What EPG source are you using? The only thing I can think of is you somehow have overlapping show listing in your EPG, or multiple shows listing for the same show at the same time.

Hello Sub,

I'm not using any EPG software. I have no recordings scheduled so there is no overlapping of recordings. I start recording manualy by pressing Ctrl-K and stop it with ESC or Ctrl-S.

15 minutes ago I restored my Image (DriveImage) of my systemdrive (C-drive), installed my PVR-150 using different drivers from the shspvr.com site, installed Win2000 and other Hauppauge software, did a channel/frequency overide, installed GBPVR, and checked if things were getting better.

It didn't...

cheers, Mike
