Is that possible?
I can't try it now as I only have 1 PVR250 card, but was wondering is it's possible?? I just don't want GBPVR to schedule like 2 recordings concurrently (I'm using PriorityRecordings, btw) and leave me with no tuner to watch LiveTV on my MVP...

Just saw that in the PriorityRecordings doc:

Code:
element  CaptureSource
type      xs:integer
properties
content     simple
used by
element     Recording
annotation
documentation

Required. Capture Source to use for Recording.

Anyone knows how to use it? Is a capture source equal to a tuner?
If so, what number should I put? Do the capture source start at 0 and increment per tuner you add?

I dont know anything about priorityrecordings.doc, so dont really know that much about this one.

I can tell you this wont enable you to force all recording to take place on a specific tuner though, and wont reserve a tuner for live tv. GB-PVR can from time to time decide to move recordings to a different capture source after they are initially scheduled.

Assuming its the capture source ID, then no, depending if you've deleted and recreated capture sources, then they could start at any number, and there could be gaps. You can only see the capture source ID by opening the gbpvr.mdb file in Microsoft Access.

Argh! Well that pretty much shoots my idea down in flames... Any chance to get a radio button or a line in config.xml to disable that in the next release?

To be honest, I'd actually have to change alot of code to support this, so no this wont be included in the next release..

Wait a minute...

Sub, if by using the flag above, I make sure priorityrecording never schedules 2 recordings at the same time. Even if GBPVR moves a recording from a tuner to another, it should never have 2 simultaneous recordings, right? Or does GBPVR also modify the scheduling by itself?

Wouldn't that ensure that there is always 1 tuner free? Maybe not always the same, but in theory, there should never be 2 concurrent recordings if I haven't scheduled any, right?

There are other times the application will move a recording from one capture source to another. For example, when you view a live tv channel on a tuner that is due to have a recording start in the next few minutes, it'll try to move the recording to another capture source rather than kicking you out of live tv prior to the recording starting.

Also, I dont know how priorityrecording works, but if it uses the GB-PVR core compoents for saving recordings in the database, then it'll also try to schedule back-to-back recordings on different capture sources so that both end up with pre/post-padding.

By all means give it a go, but I just thought I'd point out a few things I new that would stop you reserving a tuner for the live tv.
