I'm very impressed with the functionality of this combo, but I'm still fine-tuning and I'm now having a problem.

When PriorityRecording.exe runs, the recording.log lists all episodes of some shows as:

"Failed restriction progam already recorded"

when they haven't already been recorded and they are not in rectracker.mdb.

The problem even persisted when I added these shows to the ignore list and all episodes were removed from rectracker.mdb.

Would anyone have any ideas why this might happen?

Thanks.

open priorityrecordings.xml there are two flags in config. Try changing record dups to false.

You also need to be careful on how you set your duplicate handling up as well. As if the EPG has the same title and description for the show even though it isn't a repeat, the program will detect it as a repeat. The section that jorm is talking about in your PriorityRecordings.xml is as follows:

Code:
<Configuration>
    <MissingRecordingPriority>0</MissingRecordingPriority>
    <Conflicts>Delete</Conflicts>
    <DuplicatesAllowed>Yes</DuplicatesAllowed>
</Configuration>

Make sure that DuplicatesAllowed is set to Yes.

If that doesn't work. Let us know which show is giving you the problem, and one of us might be able to track it down better.

Thanks for the speedy responses, guys. Much appreciated.

DuplicatesAllowed was already set to Yes.

Here are the problem shows in the log:

Quote: CSI:NY has 1 potential recording(s).
Failed restriction progam already recorded
Without a Trace has 2 potential recording(s).
Failed restriction progam already recorded
Failed restriction progam already recorded
Law and Order has 5 potential recording(s).
Failed restriction progam already recorded
Failed restriction progam already recorded
Failed restriction progam already recorded
Failed restriction progam already recorded
Failed restriction progam already recorded
Law and Order: Criminal Intent has 1 potential recording(s).
Failed restriction progam already recorded
Law and Order: Special Victims Unit has 1 potential recording(s).
Failed restriction progam already recorded

- CSI: NY has one old episode in rectracker.mdb (not the one that is failing now).
- Without A Trace says both potentials fail, but then schedules one. This end result is correct: the unscheduled one is in rectracker.mdb.
- I put the three Law and Orders on the ignore list, so there is no mention of them in rectracker.mdb now.

All these shows seem to have different descriptions for each episode.

Here is the corresponding bit of priorityrecordings.xml:

Quote: <Recording priority="7">
<Channel>2</Channel>
<ProgramName>CSI:NY</ProgramName>
<Quality>Medium</Quality>
<Duplicates>
<Recorded>No</Recorded>
<Scheduled>No</Scheduled>
</Duplicates>
<Padding>
<PrePadding>4</PrePadding>
<PostPadding>10</PostPadding>
</Padding>
</Recording>
<Recording priority="8">
<ProgramName>Without a Trace</ProgramName>
<Quality>Low</Quality>
<Duplicates>
<Recorded>No</Recorded>
<Scheduled>No</Scheduled>
</Duplicates>
<Padding>
<PrePadding>4</PrePadding>
<PostPadding>10</PostPadding>
</Padding>
</Recording>
<Recording priority="9">
<ProgramName>Law and Order</ProgramName>
<Quality>Low</Quality>
<Duplicates>
<Recorded>No</Recorded>
<Scheduled>No</Scheduled>
</Duplicates>
<Padding>
<PrePadding>5</PrePadding>
<PostPadding>10</PostPadding>
</Padding>
</Recording>
<Recording priority="10">
<ProgramName>Law and Order: Criminal Intent</ProgramName>
<Quality>Low</Quality>
<Duplicates>
<Recorded>No</Recorded>
<Scheduled>No</Scheduled>
</Duplicates>
<Padding>
<PrePadding>5</PrePadding>
<PostPadding>10</PostPadding>
</Padding>
</Recording>
<Recording priority="11">
<ProgramName>Law and Order: Special Victims Unit</ProgramName>
<Quality>Low</Quality>
<Duplicates>
<Recorded>No</Recorded>
<Scheduled>No</Scheduled>
</Duplicates>
<Padding>
<PrePadding>5</PrePadding>
<PostPadding>10</PostPadding>
</Padding>
</Recording>

Check the Title, Sub Title, and Description for the CSI: NY that is not recording. If all three are exactly the same, even though the episode isn't the same. RecTracker will treat it as a repeat, and CDK Scheduler will not record it.

I checked CSI: NY again and each episode has different subtitles and descriptions. So the episodes in rectracker.mdb are not the same as the upcoming episodes that CDK Scheduler will not schedule.

Is this what you mean?

Any other thoughts on where the problem might be?

Okay, I'm going to try and schedule several CSI:NY episodes to see if I can duplicate the problem.

Another recommendation is to delete the CSI: NY episode that rectracker has recorded, and see if that clears the problem up. In the mean time, I'll see if I can duplicate the problem on my end.

Just started recording CSI:NY and so far haven't been able to duplicate the problem yet. I'll keep it recording and see if the problem starts to occur or not.

Thanks for going to all that trouble.

I re-did my PriorityRecordings.xml and it all seems to be working fine now.

Thanks again.
