So this program is just about the coolest damned thing I've seen lately. Every day i go home, sit on the couch and start playing all my programs that gbpvr recorded the night before while i slept. I am, however, having a small issue with the tuning of channel 5. After i get the listings from zap2it, channel 5 (fox) becomes channel 36 (espn2). So when i go to channel 5 or 36 i get espn2. I miss the simpsons. The problem doesn't appear on my wintv2k app. Is there a way i can hack the frequency of my channels? Where do those settings live?

Thanks and keep up the good work Smile

In the capture source setting, what channel number is listed next to fox?

It shows up as 5. Espn2 shows up as 36.

It sounds like you've been running one of those other TV apps that fiddle with the system tuning settings.

If you know the frequency of this station, you can put that in the place of the channel number.

Awesome. I assume I can get the frequency from the tuningassistant program. I have installed lots of other TV apps before i found gbpvr, in addition to the vendor's win2ktv program. Is there a way to hack those tuner settings back to where they should be in the registry?

Maybe. It may just show the same thing as you see in GB-PVR.

Sorry, I'm not really that familiar with it, so I dont really want to start giving advice about which registry settings to start deleting.

I'm not really that familiar with it either BUT (your own risk!) ....

The Wiki http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...gAssistant gives some good hints where to start.

Having said that I edited mine manually in the registry, to start over from scratch. I went to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\

and found each key TSXX-Y where XX = country code (0 for US, 44 for UK etc) and Y=1 for Cable or 0 for Broadcast.

I deleted the keys for one country I did not need and added frequencies (in HEX) to the ones I needed against the Channel number.

I don't think there is any PROBLEM leaving them in there though as long as you fix the ones that relate the channels you are used to the Frequencies that are correct for those channels IF you want to use channels in GBPVR. Then in GBPVR you can choose the channel in the EPG and it will "Cross-ref" the correct frequency from the registry.

(Sub notes any no in the channels column >999 will be considered as a frequency anwyay, so this is a second option).

MAYBE if you changed countries in your control panel, then changed back again, it would put back the defaults, I do not know.

But pls don't fiddle with it if you're not 110% sure!

Cheers

k.

Thanks, jksmurf. I went to that reg key and there was an entry for channel 5 that pointed to channel 36's frequency. I deleted the key, and problem solved.
