I have just reinstalled Windows XP SP2 after I tried the directx unistall, and reintsall 9.0b to get the right quartz.dll - it gummed things up big time.

I am recording in DVR-MS format but my files have started to play back slightly pixellated - straight lines are not as perfect as they were yesterday.

I also get a message that says This system does not appear to supprt VMR9.

Does this have a bearing? If so, how do I get my system to support VMR9

Only two likely cause I can think of would be, reception problems (picture breaking up etc) or choice of video decoder (poor decoding).

To test if a system supports VMR9, GB-PVR just asks the system to create the VMR9 object. If it fails, your system doesnt support VMR9. I dont know what you've done to break it, but have VMR 9 working depends on several things... video card drivers, DX9, amount of video memory on video card etc. Its probably the version of video card drivers.

I would update video card drivers, then run dxdiag.exe and test ALL functions.
Something there may give you some idea what's wrong.
You can never have enough tuners!
