Hi guys, wonder if you can help me, I have purchased a freeview HD usb stick and would like to use this with GBPVR.
I already have two hauppauge tuners installed on a winxp pc, one pci one usb.
I have installed the nanostick drivers, winxp recognises it device manager.

When I try and create a capture source i am unable to select 190e in the device type, I have unchecked just show installed capture devices, still no luck, I have tried a few pctv devices, any ideas?

Thanks

You might want to have a look at this thread... http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...-available

Whilst it is not entirely clear from that thread, I think you are only likely to get this tuner working with (the newer) NPVR rather than (the legacy) gbpvr.

Thanks for the repsonse, yes I agree it is not clear from the above thread, before I scrap GBPVR (this is used every day) and rebuild to NPVR, can someone confirm the following:

1. Is the PCTV Nanostick T2 (190e) supported in GBPVR and/or NPVR?

2. Will I be able to record the four Freeview HD channels with GBPVR and/or NPVR (my transmitter is emley moor and this is transmitting HD freeview)?

I got one of these for xmas installed drivers from cd. NPVR recognised and scanned and found all Channels inc HD - DVBGuide gets 7 day epg (meant to be encripted here on Mendip Tx)
Only problem I have at present is aerial system not good enough to split feed to 2 tuners - HD picture broken + 1 mux on original tuner disappeared!
Once I have upgraded aerial I will report back.

Can't say for GBPVR as I removed it about 4 months ago.

This is on Vista
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

it certainly should be supported in NPVR; per that thread, sub has tested a sample of the device and it worked. As to GB-PVR, I don't see anywhere in that thread where it was implied that it couldn't work with GB-PVR. If you want to try it, run a Filtercheck and post the log; from that someone will craft a BDA.INI entry for your device.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have attached the filter check, I can see entries for the new card, what are the next steps?

sorry, didn't see your post until now. I'm short on time this morning, but if no one beats me to it I'll have a bda.ini entry for you later today (maybe in about 5 hours)

ok, this one is a little confusing to me, sub might understand it better, but put both of these in and one of them should work:
Code:
[PCTV Nanostick DVB-T2 (190e)]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="PCTV 80e/290e/460e BDA 2875 TVTuner"
FILTER_CAPTURE="PCTV 80e/290e/460e BDA 2875 Capture"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[PCTV Nanostick DVB-T2 (190e) - C]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="PCTV 80e/290e/460e BDA 2875 TVTuner C"
FILTER_CAPTURE="PCTV 80e/290e/460e BDA 2875 Capture"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I don't understand why there are two tuner filters for this device, or what the significance is of the "C" in the second one's name. At first I thought it was for a DVB-C tuner path, but the specs of the device make it clear it does only DVB-T and -T2. If you discover that one of them does only DVB-T and the other does only -T2, let me know and I'll give you a better entry that will let GB-PVR understand this better.

edit: oh, I just realized it may not be obvious what you need to do with this. in the c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr directory there's a file called bda.ini. edit that file with notepad, and insert the entries above somewhere in the file, probably easiest to just go right at the top. don't disturb the other entries.
