Hi

So knowing you cant use the REMOTE from Hauppage unless the Windows is "focused" as i dont use my PVR for a PC very often its for TV only, when I get an alert on the screen like "Virus definitions updated" then when I sit down the remote wont work as the program isn’t focused, the virus alert is instead…. ...

Can you write something in the RECORDING Service that will pull the GBPVR screen to focus every 1 min or how ever often the "user" (being me) sets it to????

I dont want to use FULL SCREEN as sometimes i use the PC itself but then its annoying when the GBPVR screen is up and running but not focused so I cant use it, I then have to walk into a another room as the PVR isn’t in the same room as the TV..???

Many Thanks
Ashley

I programmed one button on my remote to "focus" on the GBPVR window. That works good. Maybe that's also a solution for you?

You can also try to set the "use direct access to hauppauge remote" (or something like that) option in the config app. If I remember correctly that will allow you to use the remote without having gbpvr in focus.
I'm not always right

...but only if you have the older 34 button remote.

if you right click the GBPVR window there is an option called "Toggle-Force Foreground" or something.....maybe that will help?

Hi

The remote idea was good but if there are remotes that wont work then will look for another way, is there a Windows switch i could use (like the force foreground) that i can start it with, i would like a non user interaction method i know works every boot....

I will also do some research later today about that and windows, there maybe a utility I can run from a schedule that will run every minute that can do it.

Many Thanks

Nope, "Toggle Force ForeGround" does as it says, but it doesnt stay focused, so that doesnt work.

Check this thread. I haven't tried it myself, so feel free to tell us how you're doing

Looks good but would like something more automated, something the system does so you dont have to think "oo, it doesnt work, let me hit this button and hope that brings it to life" type thing.

Many Thanks
