The progress bar seemed to be automatically displayed when the skip forward button was pressed on one of my PCs but not the others. Does anyone know how to enable it to be displayed when the skip button is displayed? I searched the config.xml but did not see it there. Thanks for your help.

Do you get any OSD information on this other machine? i.e., if you press the blue button (ctrl-b) do you get the OSD displayed? If not, then you're probably using the cyberlink decoder with VMR, but the cyberlink decoder hasnt had the registry setting added which make it VMR compatible.

Yes, sorry for not mentioning that Sub... the OSD (progress bar) is showing up just fine on all PCs when selecting Ctrl-b. Thanks.

When exactly are you trying to see the progress bar? playing dvd, pre-recorded video or watching live tv?

Sub, apologies again... this occurs, or fails to occur when watching recorded TV (Recordings). We like to see how far before the next commercial gap or just where we are in the recording. We skip quite often as time is limited (with two little kids) and it is good to have that reference.

ComSkip is not perfect as we know. It is therefore helpful to see the location from the next commenrcial when skipping forward or backward. I love the new auto-skip over commercials feature but sometimes I don't know if if too much was comskipped automatically. So the progress bar is useful to be shown automatically when an action occurs.

This actually gives me an idea... it may be useful to have an option to set the OSD to also display automatically when a commercial is auto-skipped. That way we know and see how far we skipped and can possibly spot when/if an error was made.

I dont know. If you can see the recording information (show name etc) when you press the blue key (ctrl-b), then you should be able to see the progress bar.

Sub, when I press the ctrl-b I do see the progress bar, show name and the rest of the information. I get about 40% of the screen covered with a transparent overlay which shows all this information. I am not sure what the proper term is for this "display" window, but I referred to it as a "progress bar" because that's what it is called in the Keyboard Shortcut section.

So I can see the whole display window when I press ctrl-b on every PC and I am hoping to have it automatically displayed when I press the Skip Forward button. It used to happen on one of my PCs but now even that one lost it.

When I pause the video the display window does pop up automatically. I'm hpoing to have the same thing when I skip through the video. Thanks again.

You may have accidently turned on the minimal OSD setting in the config app.

Sub, yes indeed, that was it. Problem solved and I feel silly. I thought OSD was some kind of plugin like ffdshow so I figured having something done minimally would help performance. It probably does help performance having it done minimally but it was a feature we liked. A big THANK YOU.
