Think of it as a VNC light. Only for MVP users.

Nothing is configurable yet. This is just a proof of concept. I will do another
release in a few days with configurable options.

Jorm,

I gave it a whirl but all I get is a black screen with an hour glass in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Any suggestions?

leave a window open and try it. i havent tried it on the mvp yet. i wonder if it is happening because it is being run as system via a service. in the service window run it as a user and restart the service and try it again.

All I use is MVP's which is what I'm trying it on. I tried logging in to the PC and leaving a window open which resulted in the same black screen. It is running under the system account and wondered if that might be the problem. I'll change it to my user account and see if that makes it behave differently. Kind of strange that I get the hourglass, it's the one the cursor changes into when busy.

Please don't link unfinished pages in the left sidebar. I got a lot of mail from people wondering why they need a password to download files...

The new page will still appear with a link on the Plugin/Plugin

Cheers

Hi Jorm,

Thought I'd give you a little positive feedback here! I've been playing with xview over my MVPs and it seems to work fine; only points to note:

- Cursor remains as an hourglass
- It's a little slow to navigate around (but hey, it's not as if I'm using Excel now, is itSmile?)
- Fiddled about with scaled screen size to get it to display reasonably large / clear on my tv.

Do you have any plans to develop it further? A 'zoom' option, similar to what Reven implemented in MyPictures plugin would be pretty cool...

Keep up the good (and imaginative!) work!

I added the items to the list. I am planning on developing it further, just need to scrape up more time which is short right now.

- Cursor remains as an hourglass
I added it to the todo list.

- It's a little slow to navigate around (but hey, it's not as if I'm using Excel now, is it?)
It is the logic I am using. There is a second set of keys besides the arrows that move a lot faster.

I would like to add zoom, and an onscreen keyboard.

It probably will wait till I get some more time though. Anyone want to take over some plugins. Smile

if all you get is a black screen then it's being run under user account, and with user account you can't select 'interact with desktop' but if you run as a system account and check that box,it works...but you will also lose network access..
if you want both just run the mvp server with gbpvr.exe -mvpmode and both network shares and xview will work Big Grin
[it can be kicked off from a service if you don't login, with several utils out there..e.g. srvany.exe from microsoft lets you run progs from a service]

i'll give the code a look,i want to make a dedicated web browser for mvp and it looks doable, but need that keyboard [or better yet, cell phone style] and right-click ability to really function.. will be my first efforts into making plugins so don't expect much soon..lol
