I've just updated to 0.14 and I'm having problems. Reverting back to 0.13 seemed to make no difference. I am using a PVR2 USB under Windows XP Pro.

I cannot get Live TV (in GBPVR) to work nor can I get a scheduled recording to work properly. If I set one up when the start time arrives an mpg file is created of zero length and then the CPU utilisation jumps to around 100% but nothing is recorded.

WinTV2K, WinTV32 and the radio all work fine. Previously recorded video files and MP3s play OK. I am using Direct Recording like I did previously when everything worked perfectly. The TV Guide also works.

I should probably mention that I have also installed a Sony NetMD device this past weekend and I'm having some problems with the USB interface not functioning correctly. I suspect that this has interfered with the GBPVR program in some way but I'm not sure what to look for.

Does anyone have any suggestions about where to start with this?

I've not changed anything in the recording area in v0.14, so I'm not supprised you problem is also present in v0.13.

When I used to have an IRQ conflict on my machine, it would cause similar behaviour sometimes. It wouldn't do it all the time, but occasionally it would generate a file of zero bytes long. I was able to run this through the debugger and everything would appear to work just fine,  but the Hauppauge driver just wouldn't produce any data.

Its worth trying it just after a clean reboot. Probably also want to unplug the Sony NetMD before rebooting for this test.

Hi Sub, thanks for replying. I am pretty sure that it is not your software as version 0.13 used to work fine and now it doesn't. An uninstall and reinstall of the Hauppauge software has made no difference.

Interestingly the Sony Net MD works fine on my laptop but not on my office machine and it's the same situation with your software. I am starting to suspect the USB drivers or something similar as being corrupted, or perhaps some registry settings.

Do you happen to know if uninstalling the USB device in Device Manager and then letting Windows detect it and install it again will correct any software problems or will they persist? Any suggestions woud be very welcome.

Paul
