Can I use other decoders for my 350?

Well, the title says it all...
Can I use other video encoders/decoders for my Hauppauge 350? If yes, Will they give me better picture quality? How would I change the encoder/decoder?

Assuming you're using the TV out on your PVR350, then the answer is no. The MPEG2 decoder is implemented in hardware, and is uneffected by you selected software decoder.

Yes I was talking about the 350 TV out I felt like such a no0b asking the question. I know very little about the A/V space. I'm assuming the 350 has a hardware encoder too. No need to reply if that is true. |
