Hi everybody,

Let just start by saying that GB-PVR is an excellent program and I want to say to the author: keep up the good work!

I get the unable to "update EPG" in the Config program. I already checked my firewall and disabled it. I also disabled my Anti-virus just to be safe. I still get the error. I also check my Zap2it account and it is not expired. It is active. Here is my log below:

I dont know why its looking for jfwo3od1.dll and dnbr56qu.dll. They're not files of mine, and unfortunately google turns up no reference to them.

I would assume by the name that those files are drivers for a 56k modem.

I'm new to PVR's and I have just installed a Hauppauge PVR-250. I decided to skip installing WinTV2000, and went for GB-PVR because I've read good things about it in TV tuner reviews.

I followed the installation instructions as best I could, but I can't seem to get the EPG update working. I'm in the US and trying to use Zap2it. I have made an account and reset (closed then re-opened) the config program.

When I click "Update EPG" I get the message, "Requesting listing information from Zap2it.com". After about 2 or 3 minutes the popup returns a generic error saying "Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG Source Settings and try again."

I've checked my username and password, so I'm pretty sure they aren't the problem. I also have closed firewall/virus protection programs in order to try and eliminate that possible problem.

Thanks

The most common cause of this is firewall installed on the machine is stopping GB-PVR from communicating with the zap2it website - even when the user is sure the firewall is not getting in the way.

Post you config.exe.log and I'll provide a diagnosis.

Not to seem smart or anything, but sometimes when it has been a while since the Zap2it account is created, there is a survey that needs to be completed on their website. I have gotten that error (does not seem to be configured correctly" and all it was that a survey had to be completed. I did not get an e-mail from Zap2it about this, it just seemed to stop working. Just another thing you guys could check...

I encountered that problem when updating to version 09310. Even though I uninstalled 09211, the setting for the capture source and epg were saved. So you should try doing a complete uninstall (delete the devnz folder manually). Then reinstall. If that doesn't work, just go back to version 09211.

No, you dont have the same problem. Your error message looks like your firewall is stopping GB-PVR from talking to the zap2it server.

Firewall? As far as know I don't have one running. I even tried disabling my antivirus program...no luck. This may sound lame...but, how can I tell if a firewall is running?
