Does anyone know if there is a way to file recorded shows in xRecord?

What I would like to do is Have different areas for different people so when I watch a show I can say "My Son would like to see this" and file it under some directory (or whatever) that he can watch at a leter time.

I would like to have about 8 different filling areas. Son1, Son2, daughter, wife, brother, etc..

Any Ideas how I would do that?

create a folder under the video directory copy the files there. It will show up as the directory name. Is that what you wanted?

Thanks for the reply but if I understand your responce you would like me to create these files using the computer keyboard/mouse.

This is a little bit of a problem since the program using GBPVR does not have a keyboard/mouse or monitor. Just a TV via a *-350 and a 45 key remote.

Is there a way to do this from the remote? I don't mind setting up a keyboard and such to create the directories but would like a way to move the files to the directories to via the remote.

Thanks again.

I am open to enhacing xrecord to do this. But with the stuff already there.

Can edit postupdateepg to move from the kids directories to c:\video\stuff for son

or you can use the fileexplorer plugin

Thanks Jorm.

That sounds like an awkward but quite doable solution. I'll try it out.

If your willing to change xRecord, a better (more flexible) idea would be to be able to add “User Category Tags” to recordings. Then when you show the Recordings list you press a button to switch views (Title, Chanel, Time, etc...) you could have one that was “User Category” Having a single category field would be enough for me but maybe people would like to add things like;
“Good”, “Classic”, “My favorites”, etc
and
“Western”, “Drama”,etc..

So you could have a Classic/Drama and a good/western

I agree it is awkward. Let me play with the category tags.

Jorm,

Thanks for the VERY fast responce to the category issue. I down loaded it and installed version 40. But I'm a little unsure how to make the gategories go. I Created a xcategories.txt file with the example info you listed but don't know what else I should do.

Also, your exaple has what I think is show titles in it. Realy I was talking about specific epasodes.

Hi Jorm.

I hooked up a keyboard to the computer and press ctrl-y, then realized I didn't know where.

I tried in XRecord/Ready. I changes Title->Channel->time->Period->Quality and cycles back to Title.

I tried XRecord/Ready/Stargate SG-1 and get bassicly the same thing.

I tried XRecord/Ready/Stargate SG-1/Stargate SG-1 (New Order)
and I get the epasode information, The title at the top of the windows changes via the same Title->Channel->time->Period->Quality but nothing else changes.

On this screen there is Play/Play all/Delete/export/archive/find more/rename/ and exit.
This would be a great place to put the item to select the Category since we already have a epesode selected.

Any help would still be appreciated.
