Is there any way to run comskip from a dos prompt and not have to rename the mpg file?
for instance now that comskip is tuned just right I want to run it on some recordings that were not processed by the postprocessing.bat file.

But if I type: comskip The Beast_20050918_13001630.mpg I get and error becasue comskip looks at "The" and says its not a valid mpg file.
this also happens if I type comskip "The Beast_20050918_13001630".mpg or any other variation.
so I just rename it Beast_20050918_13001630.mpg and it works ok.

I have a lot of recordings so I hoped to find a way not to have to renname them all.

thanks

use quotes and it should work. Also, make sure that comskip and the mpg file in question are in the same directory or that you can run comskip from any other directory.

so it might be:

comskip "The Beast_20050918_13001630.mpg"
(Note the name of the file inside the quotations.)

Yes that works, I swear I thought I had tried that. Possibly when I did I was running comskip from the gbpvr directory while pointing to the full path, also including quotes, of the target file.
-appreciate the help

I set up a new action for MPG files in windows explorer. Now I just do rightclick -> Analyze with comskip.

Open a explorer window, tools -> folder options -> file types
Scroll down to MPG or MPEG, click once, click advanced -> new
Action: Analyze with ComSkip
Application used: "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\comskip.exe" "%1"
Use DDE: yes
Application: comskip
Topic: system

Makes it a lot easier to comskip whatever was missed by the PostProcessing.bat

One more way is to copy the three comskip files to the directory with the mpeg files then drag and drop the mpeg file onto comskip.exe.
