I am trying GB-PVR for the first time - I was so pleased to find this software available after I have struggled so much with the Vision software that comes with the PCTV Deluxe capture device. After installing and setting up the capture source, when I click on Live TV I get the message:
"Failed to communicate with Recording Service"
After reading several posts on the forum, I have verified that the Windows Firewall is disabled and I also run McAfee Personal Firewall - which I disabled and in addition gave the GBPVR.exe full access.
One thing I did notice is that the GB-PVR Recording Service in Windows Services is not running. When I start the service manually it starts and then immediately stops and I get this message:
"The GB-PVR Recording Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service."
The GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log contains only this:
