Is there any way I can invoke a manual recording either through a command line or by modifying the file with the scheduled recordings (don't know where that is)?

The reason I want to do this is because after a reboot, the pvr-250 driver does not do closed-captioning for the first recording. I would like to put something in the system startup to take care of this automatically. I would hate to have to resort to "AutoIt"...

The (known) available commandline options can be found here:

Maybe you can do something with -LiveTV in a bat file? Brainstorming here... maybe startup gbpvr with -LiveTV, then stop it somehow, and then start it again. Pretty ugly, but if it works, it works Wink
I'm not always right

stefan, thanks (again).

i don't think LiveTV is enough compared to an actual recording to a file, but i will double check.

even it it can't be done, i am curious how the front end communicates with the recording service, and the service to the driver (even if in broad terms).

Sorry, theres not really anything there you can use to roll-your-own solution in the way you describe.
