im trying to find a good free burner for my music 3, nerocmd makes it difficult to get the percent complete back (like if i redirect the standard output for some reason it doesnt show up until after the lead in has been writting and its about half way thru the first track), cd express (or something along those lines) doesnt display the percentage anyway for me to easily get (in the window title would be nice and easier, similar to dbpoweramp), so anyone know any tool that allows you to burn mp3s (and maybe wma, ogg, ape) from either the command line (with a popup window with progress) or accessible via a dll in c# ?

im really trying to make it possible to show the current status of the burning cd to the user (its handy to have) but nerocmd doesnt make it easy, cdrecord you have to first convert to wav files, its driving me nuts......

anyone know any progs?????

are you sure that is free? and can be run from command prompt or .net ? and shows the progress in a way easy to get (like in the title bar) ?

i just found this : http://www.roxio.com/en/company/news/arc...0930.jhtml
and it says its not free, and nothing about the other requirements i need.

Have you had a look at CDBurnerXP? Not sure if it satisfies your reqs, but it certainly is free:

EDIT: Found another one:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/vcsharp/downlo...es/xpburn/

Only works on Win XP though...

Hmm, I dunno if this is what you mean with "cd express" but maybe it could do the trick? Smile

Express Burn

Quote:Express Burn is free

We make Express Burn free in the hope you will like it so much you will decide to upgrade to Express Burn Plus. The plus version includes more advanced features like the ability to create and record ISO images and, for audio CD, support for many more file formats (the basic version only supports wav and mp3).

According to this site it should include an SDK (so I assume it's ment to be used as a backend for other programs):
Quote:Includes command line options and an SDK to be integrated into other programs.

yeah express burn is what i meant Smile

doesnt show the percentage, other than that its really good, lets you burn from command line and all, tiny little thing (if worst comes to worst i might ask the developer to add the percentage to the title bar or something).

cdburnerxp looks promising, its written in .net, and the author seems like an alright guy/girl so might be able to add internal support or something.

but if that doesnt work keep throw back app names (and urls would help) Smile
