Wish there was a SLEEP option similar to the SLEEP function with the shutdown plug-in. I normally shutdown (hibernate) my PC remotely to conserve energy using the MVP but sometimes I fall asleep and the PC is left the whole time. It will not hibernate since GBPVR is still running on the MVP. To the Shutdown PLUG-IN developer, please add this feature.

Thanks.

can anyone confirm that a running MVP prevents hibernation (i don't have one...) before i add this to the plugin and no one would actually need it :-)

Actually, I just discovered that while watching with my MVP, my remote PC actually went into hibernation in the middle of my program, although this only happened one time and I can't seem to repeat it, am not sure if it was a bug or something else. Maybe Sub might know more about it. Regarding the SLEEP option, I still would like to have some form of control to when my PC will hibernate, so please do put it in.

thanks.

i added a 'sleep-timer' feature to the plugin a couple weeks ago and asked fhmanas to test it, but did not hear anything until now.
so if there is anyone who needs this feature and want to play arround with it a bit msg me.

thanks

Sorry, didn't know you added the feature already. Is it in the WIKI. Will install and give you feedback.

Thanks for listening.

Where can I get the new version of the plug-in? Is it the SHUTDOWn26.zip found in the WIKI? I tried it but couldn't make heads or tails with it, went back first to shutdown24.zip

yes, i like the idea of a sleep timer--for this reason, sometimes i forget to turn off the pc and with it running, it just jacks up (i think after hours), so it needs to be reset, and any movies that are recorded during the "forget" time get jacked too.

ah voila. i still had the msg in sent items:

ShutDownPlugin 2.7

i did some enhancement and added a rudimentary sleep-timer to it.

you can download the shutdownplugin here (its not released in the wiki yet!).

you can activate the timer in two ways:

1. select shutdown on the main menu. when you see the shutdown-plugin menu, hit 'GO' on your remote (or F11 on the keyboard as its normally set). you can then cycle through the sleep-time in 10 minutes steps.

2. if you add the plugin to the videoplugin (you have to manually edit config.xml...
just edit the 'VideoPlugin1'-lines and replace them with <VideoPlugin1>Shut Down</VideoPlugin1> (note the case and the blank!)).
after this, you can invoke the timer during watching live tv/recording/video/dvd by hitting 1, GO on your remote or 1, F11 on your keyboard) and cycle through the time like mentioned above.

when the sleep timer is about to shut down your machine while you are watching something, a warning countdown is displayed a couple of seconds (see config) before. hit 'back' or 'GO' on your remote (esc or f11 on keyboard) to cancel.

NOTE: if a recording is running or about to begin, the sleep timer won't shut down the machine!

please let me know if it works (it should.. but i don't have an mvp to fully test it).

as i said: its rudimentary. but i think its enough. :-) let me know if you have some more suggestions.

and: because of the new elements (timer-osd-box, warning, etc.) you need the new skin.xml-file! (fhmanas: the same applies for 2.6 when comming from 2.4... that may be the reason for the problems occured...?)

Just installed it and test it tonight. Sorry, never noticed the messages before. I will give you feedback after a couple of tests with the MVP
