For the last couple of release, if I watch tv the mvp crashes and restarts at the end of the program. It used to just stutter for a second or two while it switched to the next show, but now it goes back to contacting servers. It boots right back to the main gbpvr screen, but it is a pain to have to keep resetting the channel. Part of my log is below. Any ideas? I seem to remember the "connection was aborted by the software in your host machine" message, but I can't find it on a posting.

I had this problem and didn't hear the end of it. My family was watching "24" and the last few seconds were crapping out.

Anyway I reloaded my XP install and left my MVPs unplugged overnight and all seems well now.

Hello,

I am havving this problem since I bought my MVP halfway August. The problem not only occurs with GBPVR but also with the Hauppauge original software.
I have tried about everyting one can find in this form and found that using the more recent Dongle.bin's and the network tweaks clearly brought the frequency down but did not solve the problem completely.

Tipstir has a quite large description of all the tweaks here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...work+tweak

I requested assistance from Hauppauge yesterday, lets see what they come up with.
Regards Koen,

GBPVR 1.4.7
AMD 780G with X2 BE2350, 2gb ram, LCD-TV, Win XP
PVR500, PVR150 & PVC150 MCE MediaMVP D3A, 2 networked clients

Anyone figure this one out yet? I tried all the dongles I could find and it still crashes like clockwork at the end of every live tv show. Before the last couple of releases it would stutter for a second at the end of the show, display the MVP on-screen stop icon, then strart right into the next show on that channel. I guess that at that moment it is dumping the old recording and starting the new one for instant replay, but now it can't bridge that down spot. It finds the server quickly and comes back up, but the WAF is way down at this point. It does not seem like a network problem since it is so consistant. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I had a good go at reproducing this today, but it seems to change to the next show reliable for me, so I'm at a bit of a loss sorry. I had it running for about the last six hours.

But it's not been a real hastle, just a slight annoyance.

Sometimes I'll hit stop near the end of the show, and just get locked into the old black screen of purgatory. At which point I turn off the MVP and restart it. It generally comes up fine. Sometimes, it even comes back up at the XRecord Ready menu, where it should have ended up after hitting stop.

I noticed that if I hit skip forward near the end of the show, it's more likely to get in this state. I assumed it was the MVP or gbpvr decoder getting confused by skipping past the end of file.

Anyway, I've not gone looking for any clues in log files, but if Sub thinks it's useful, I can try and see if there are any.

I'm experiencing this as well. In addition when an mp3 finishes my MVP restarts then as well. I have tried many network tweaks with no success. As soccerdad says it seems to consistent to be a network issue.

soccerdad, Koenie, or cheapohubby,

Have any of you solved this on your installs yet?

I've tried many suggestions from the forums (new dongle's, network settings, etc) without success. Crashing at the end of shows is not that bad, its crashing at the end of every mp3 in MyMusic and Music Library that is frustrating.

It could be nothing but I always see the following log entry right before it crashes....

10/28/2005 9:49:58 PM.609 VERBOSE [120] Not all bytes read. Got:1750 Filesize now:957750

Thats normal. Thats just the indication that its reached the end of the file.
