I have a WinTV PVR USB2 (model 941) and gbpvr v0.94.13.

I only get a blank screen when selecting "Watch" to view liveTV. The green "Exit/Quick Rec/RecordWatch" popup screen just stays on the foreground and doesn't go away. I can hear the sound, but am not seeing any video. This happens on both TV and PC.
If I do a Quick Record and then Play back, then I get the video+sound. Not a problem there. I can also play back any recorded shows.
Are there some other settings?

My gb-Config:
- Pre-show padding=0 (default?)
- Capture Source: Direct Recording->WinTV PVR2 USB-> Internal Tuner + Antenna, Medium Quality
- Playback: LiveTV Pre-play delay: 600

I just bought the USB2 box today and installed Hauppauge CD on the PC to make sure that I could get liveTV okay. All was working fine before I started bringing up gbpvr. I still left Hauppauge software installed. I don't think that would cause any conflict with gbpvr?

Any help would be apreciated. Thanks,

D.

Maybe try setting the deinterlacing setting to 'Encoder pass through'.

Hi Sub,
I tried your suggestion but that still doesn't solve the problem.
I noticed the following error msg "Found Expired Lease. Stop recording". Does that mean something?
Code:

I can do a a Quick Record, and immediately select Play to view the video, but can't view liveTV yet. Please help.
Thanks,

Set the deinterlacing setting to 'Encoder pass through' and try again, then post the logs.

I brought up config and pressed OK (because I had already set it to encode passthru before) and then restarted gbpvr. This time it paused at the blank screen for about 45 -60 seconds at LiveTV (from TVGuide or LiveTV menu) and then displayed the video (this time live).

Why such a long delay? Is it buffering the video? I'm attaching the logs in case you want to see them

One a side note, I have a ReplayTV 5508 also showing video to make sure that I did see live tv from hauppauge. The video from hauppauge is about 2 seconds ahead of replaytv's. That's wild. So, that's as live as you can get from this hauppauge unit.

THanks.

No, its not the video buffering. This only takes a couple of seconds.

It is most likely due to some bad combination the Directshow filters or other components installed. You logs tally up with this diagnosis. Windows seems to take about 50 seconds to render the Directshow graph.

I current select interlink video decoder for playback. I also have a Nero decoder version listed in the pull down menu. Should any of these decoders add to the delay?

I'll reinstall gbpvr on a fresh machine this weekend to see if that will improve anything. This PC does have a lot of stuff installed.

Its probably not caused by those. Its likely to be other directshow components.

Hi Sub,
One more question...so shouldn't the combination of bad direcshow components also affect WinTV32 and WINTV2000 application as well? They respond quickly.
