I've found that when I press the record button on my remote (CTRL+K) when I have the TV guide overlaid on a TV programme I'm watching, it will set the selected programme to record, but closes the TV guide. This behaviour is different to 3.3.8 which would keep the TV guide open, allowing more recordings to be scheduled.
Is there a setting that controls this? I've maybe missed it.
Is there any way to include the channel name or number in the filename of a recording? I know about the PostProcessing scripts, that's not what I'm asking, I already do that. But I don't see any way to either set the desired filename of a recording, OR a way to get that channel information after the recording has been completed. Ideally I would like to be able to customize the filenames for each recurring recording because I don't like the way they are in my local EPG anyway. Is this possible?
Hi
I am a little confused at to how to install tv listings. The directions i saw said to drag the folder into the nextpvr directory. I tried many different ways of doing so which I saw on the internet but none of them seem to work. I would appreciate clear directions on installing TV Listings as a plugin.
Thanks.
For many years I use NextPVR with Technotrend C-1501 DVB-C cards. I posted about this before on this forum. I worked perfectly.
Until last Sunday. My network provider (KPN) is making changes, which can all be overcome, except some change they made last Sunday. NPVR can not find the channels anymore, except when I run DVBLink after a reboot of the PC. So, DVBLink apparently does something that NPVR does not. DVBLink works every time. NPVR now only after DVBLink. Before I found this I tried everything, installing and removing three generations of drivers, removing the DVB-C-card and putting it back, changing the chipset driver to reset the motherboard. I use Windows 7, 32-bit.
I will explain.
The tuning INI that I made years ago is:
[INDENT][CABTYPE]
1=Nederland
2=Glashart (that used to be the network name years ago)
Currently that does not seem to be enough to find the channels. There are none. And when I want to record with the channels that are in place the tuner can not lock the channel and it records a file of 0 bytes.
When using the DVBLink-software beforehand the channel list is not changed, and the network ID is still 3300.
After the PC needs rebooting for something, I need to go to the DVBLink webinterface, go to source, "Select channel search mode, fast", enter frequency 304000 and speed 6875 and click on "Search networks". It will find "KPN-ITNS WAH (ID: 3300)" and I let it scan for channels. That is enough. After that NPVR can also find channels and record programs without further modification to the configuration.
So, apparently DVBLink does something concerning the network ID on my system that NPVR does not.
When I stop the NPVR service, and restart again, the trick holds. So, I guess DVBLink changes something in the Windows configuration that sticks until reboot. Something NPVR can use.
I saw on the forum other people that mention NPVR can not find channels, but I believe these people encounter this problem when installing and move on to another software if NPVR does not work for them. I am a happy user since GBPVR and DVB user since 2011 with this same setup and only got this trouble last Sunday.
I think it is worthwhile to find the solution, also for those other people. What can I do further to track the key to success?
I am somewhat intermittently getting 0KB recordings. The last few Sundays, "Once upon a time" has been giving me 0KB files. Also, just tonight "Survivor" produced a 0KB file, but all other shows recorded fine.
I am using the latest NextPVR (3.4.8) with HDHomerun Prime. I've had this intermittent problem with the prior version of NextPVR as well. I can tune all these channels from HDHomerun setup without a problem. I looked in the logs but didn't find anything obvious. Any assistance would be helpful. Logs are attached. Thank you.
i keep getting this in nrecord logs seemingly constantly..

i successfully followed the directions in the following documentation: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?....EPGMC2XML. However when i try to import the TVGUIDE.xml file i get an error message saying "This xml file is not a device channel list previously created with the 'Export Channels' feature. No Channels imported." how do i import the TVGUIDE.xml file?
I updated my spare X-NEWA client to early Openelec 6 Beta yesterday and it failed! The error message pointed to a video card problem and noticed that there is now a Nvidia Legacy Build but this cannot be relevant as my video card is a Nvidia 210 bought less than two years ago. However looking at the list of Nvidia cards supported by the standard x86_64 build the 210 card is not listed but is among many in the Legacy build. I know things go obsolete quickly these days but that seems a bit quick to be regarded as a legacy item!!
I was wondering if the new naming scheme of movies and series was available when using xmltv? Say, if the tag productionyear (or is it date) had the movies production year and episode-num was formatted like SxxExx, will they be used for file naming?
