Is there any chance of adding support for VideoPlus codes? Sometimes I see things in the TV guide in the newspaper and it would be nice to be able to set NextPVR to record them.
FYI, the NextPVR project is going to move to a new web hosting provider soon. The current dedicated hosting hasn't been too bad, but there has quite a few network outages, the hardware is now pretty dated (slow backups etc), and some issues relating to spam reputation of the hosting provider (leading to some ISPs blocking registration emails etc).
The new dedicated server costs slightly less, and is significantly better hardware.
I've started moving some of my other web sites. NextPVR and the forums will most likely be moved this weekend, and will be offline for a few hours during the move.
Not having much luck getting my Hauppauge DCR-2650 system to run. I should say I'm setting these shows manually to run every day at the same times. Easy enough, right?
First I had recordings stop altogether using NextPVR. Switched over to Hauppauge's WinTV8 scheduler. That ran OK for a day and then stopped working. Got 0 bytes for each manually set recording. Then, last evening it starting recording two shows on different channels all by itself that I did not even program in.
Apparently they were now running under Windows Media Center... which I never tried to use. Only had that open long enough for the cable guy to install the M-cards weeks ago. Do these programs use similar points for storing the recording information? The old way was to store under Windows "Tasks" but I see nothing there.
I need to go back to the start but I have some questions I hope someone can answer.
What is the minimal amount of "stuff" I need to have installed to get NextPVR to work with the DCR-2650 box?
I was told I need the Silicon Dust HomeRun PRIME program installed since they apparently made this box for Hauppauge... but...
Do I need to have Windows Media Center running?
Is it better to set up one of these channel schedules (.xml) and program the recordings that way. Is the manual method making things more difficult for NextPVR?
I would like to use this app on my Amazon Fire TV, which would make it like an extender. In the mean time, would it be possible for you to give me an .APK to sideload manually?
Hey sub, thanks for the awesome work you do. Would you add a by Original Air Date sort on the New Recordings and Ready Recordings? It was a feature I used quite a bit in other DVR software that shall go nameless.
Personally, when looking at available recordings list, I like to see the listings in this format: "Elementary: 3.12 Sherlock solves a mystery" so I can see if I have missed any episodes and make sure I can watch episodes in order. Consequently, I wrote a utility to do just that. Unfortunately, season/episode data is only available in the epgevent table and disappears once the show has passed its air date.
Could you copy the season/episode data to the xml data in the scheduled recording table?
If I bring up the TV guide while watching live TV, I get the following error after I clear the tv guide. NPVR will lock up shortly after.

I'm just getting started with NextPVR, coming from WMC. I've sorted out the usual firewall, video decoder, and EPG issues, thanks to searching the support forums and wiki and so on. But I've hit a snag that I couldn't find via search, so my first post is a request for clarification on how to do this presumably simple thing.
I've got four HDHomeRun OTA ASTC tuners available. Though they basically receive the same channels, each channel comes in decidedly better on some tuners than others. In WMC it's pretty straightforward to go in and set the priority order of the tuners within each channel's configuration. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do this in NextPVR. Clearly, I'm missing something. Sorry for being dense.
Specifically, let's say the tuners are hypothetically named A, B, C, and D.
For channel 4.1 I want to assign tuner A as first priority for it and tuner B as second priority (and, possibly C and D as 3rd and fourth priority)
For channel 8.1 I want tuner B as first priority and Tuner D as second priority
For channel 59.1 I want Tuner A then C.
(and so on).
I've seen the tuner priority in devices, but that appears to be a global thing, with no per-channel settings. Not too useful if the signal for each channel comes in differently on different tuners.
I can't just make sure each desired channel appears on a single tuner's lineup, because conflicts happen with reasonable frequency.
How do people set this up? I've found nothing in the wiki or my search through the forums, so I'm starting to think this is a thing that NextPVR doesn't have, which would be a dealbreaker for my needs, unfortunately. I'm hoping I'm just looking at it the wrong way and there's a reasonable solution.
I have been trying to get SD to handle my tv guid for over the air channels with out any luck I downloaded the patch but when I try to change to SD in channel epg source I keep getting the unhandled exception error.
There was a script in the forum that looked through the entire db and spat out a cmd file that then ran igl to rename all the files. Well, I was wondering if someone can make one that did the reverse. I want all my renamed files to be back to then normal NPVR naming convention.
The reason I renamed it was because I wanted Plex to be able to figure things out, but it doesn't seem to work very well for my shows and it breaks my transcoding script.
