I'm using the current version of NextPVR. I think that is 3.1.1. Using it with Kodi 14.2. Using Schedules Direct for my channel guide. Everything is working and I have no complaint.
I am a long time user of Replay TV. I was an early adopter and until I built my HTPC (over a year ago now), I had 3 running daily. Still use 1 as a pure backup to make sure I always get my local and national news recorded. My wife still uses a Replay for Jeopardy. Both running Replays also use schedules direct (via Wirns). I hope to eventually get my wife to Kodi, but that may not happen till my last Replay TV gives up the ghost.
Here is the issue I'd like to try to address. On Replay TV, when you look at the channel guide for a particular show. If it is a "repeat" or "re-run", the word "repeat" surrounded by parens (repeat) is at the very beginning of the text describing the show. This only occurs on TV shows, not movies and stuff like that. So I know the schedules direct data has some indicator that a show is a repeat, and of course when you schedule a recording in NextPVR, one of the selections in "Recording Type" is "New episodes" only. So NexpPVR must know the "first run" status of a given show.
It would sure be nice when you looked at the TV Guide info if you knew right then if the show was a repeat or not. I am sure there are a lot of ways this could be done. You could put (repeat) at the beginning of the text (like Replay TV), a different color in the background, or many things. While I think that would be a good enhancement, if I knew where that info was within the database that contains the detail program guide, I could run a batch job after the EPG data is gathered and put the "repeat" indicator in myself. I know Kodi gets its guide from NextPVR so I assume if I modified the data on the NextPVR side it would get to Kodi by default.
Anyone have any ideas on how I might do this? I've gotten pretty good at Python since I built my HTPC, so I know I could code it if I knew where the data was and how to access it.
Thanks for any assistance given. I realize this is not a big priority item and the NextPVR team have plenty of more important things to worry about. But any help would be appreciated.
Hello i have installed npvr here on my tv-server for the fist time.
After the installation i would like to scan for channels but i always get the same message on all 4 tuners:
Trying to figure out why I'm seeing just a black screen in NextPVR when I try to tune a live TV channel. While I've found posts about similar problems here, none of the solutions seemed to fix my issue.
First, the set up - Using an HDHomerun Extend with an OTA antenna. I know the tuner works because I can go directly to the channels within Kodi (via Video>Files>HDHomerun). But if I try using the Live TV option (NextPVR set as the backend), the channels fail to load and I get a "Tuner No Longer Available" error. This sometimes causes Kodi to freeze up.
And if I try to use NextPVR on its own, every channel shows up completely black. I scanned the tuners, and all the channels are listed in Settings. I've got decoders set and paths for recording. When I first installed it, it seemed to work fine. Once I started running into problems, I tried re-installing, but that didn't get me anywhere.
I'd like to add in some custom programming on the postprocessing.bat. My question is if I process the file and change the filename as part of that conversion, then I'm assuming I need to update the filename in the sqlite npvr.db3 database as well. Do I only need to update the FILENAME field in the SCHEDULED_RECORDING table, or are there other fields that I potentially would need to update as well?
So I've been slowly tweaking and fine tuning my NextPVR setup. Excellent software BTW! I've been using it for a while but I finally went full bore and built a HTPC to use it on. Simple i3-4160 with 8TB of hard drive space, 8 gig of RAM, old school HDHomerun dual tuner, and an WinTV card I had to make up my three OTA tuners. Enough about the setup as that's another thread really. I had everything running great for a week, recording with no issues. So I threw in a postprocessing.bat with comskip in it. Well come to find out it was causing the beginning of my recordings to be corrupted. Sometimes it would even lock up NextPVR where I had to exit out of it during playback. After a bit of research I found the pattern. It was on the recordings where another had finished right before it when comskip was running. I was able to reproduce the issue by recording three things from 7p-8p then have a couple of new recordings at 8pm. I'm guessing it was just too much for the drive to handle and data was getting queued up and dropped from the tuner. I turned off comskip and the issue went away. But I want comskip right!?
I tried to do the parallelprocessing.bat file but that seems to have mixed results as for some weird reason comskip would just end in the middle of the show at random times. So I'm circling back to my initial thought of all this to do comskip at night when the PC is idle. It just makes sense to me to do this after 1am or so. Does anyone have anything setup like this already? I was thinking of making an app/script that would look through my folders for non commercial skipped files and run them through in sequential manner.
I have 3 inputs to NPVR, 2 from a HDHomerun (antenna) and 1 from Directv > Colossus.
I'm getting "no show data" where I have matching channels in the guide.... For instance
Channel 2 KDKA - source collossus/directv. guide data schedules direct satellite - I get "no guide data"
Channel 2.1 KDKA Source HDHR/antenna. guide data schedules direct satellite I get the show data (also shows mapped to Channel 2!)
OK so I am thinking the guide data and mapping are wrong for the KDKA 2.1. I go Settings > Channels > Details. Change the guide to the schedules direct antenna one. Do the pull down tab and map to 2.1. Click OK. The settings don't stay....
Any insight on what I could be doing wrong? New to NPVR and still getting a feel for the settings I think will fit my needs.
I've run across what a strange issue that started a little over a week ago. NPVR records according to the recurring schedule but once the recording is completed the database is not updated. I reboot the machine and the recordings show up as failed due to "Recording Service Not Running at time of recording" in the database. Without thinking I cleared those entries out last night. I hadn't been home for about the time it started so I figured I had lost power or something but the problem persists. I was able to successfully import the recordings using vidimport.
Any ideas where to look at what might be causing the problem, logs attached.
I just got a Gigabyte Brix to play with. I'm trying to configure it as a client. Unlike my other boxes, I installed WIN 7 Home Basic 64-BIT in this one.
My other machines are all 32-bit versions.
Problem now is I can't get around the error message:
"The DirectX runtime is not available.......".
In desparation I've installed both C++ 2008 and C++2010 runtimes; 64-bit versions.
(I even tried installing the 32 bit versions along side the 64 bit versions)
I ran the JUN_2010 DirectX 9.0c resdistr. too.
(how can I tell if it installed the 32 or 64 bit version? does it matter?)
Still can't get rid of the error.
