Hi guys,
2 days I'm trying to install NextVR on an Windows server 2012 R2 essentials machine, couldn't nail it!
What happened so far:
habe a digital devices S2 6.5 Tuner card
Clean install of Windows Server 2012 R2 essentials
all Updates installed
installed Windows server media pack, BDA support is present, DVBViewer an Recording Service ist working like a charm
quit all recording services, installed nextPVR
wanted to scan for Astra 19.2
and then..." Unable to start device...."
checked the logfile, there's an errormessage at the end
<2014-10-11 21:37:30.355 [ERROR][1] Unexpected error calling ReloadSettings(): System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): Es konnte keine Verbindung hergestellt werden, da der Zielcomputer die Verbindung verweigerte 127.0.0.1:8968>
seems i have a problem with my firewall or something similar, but even when I disable the firewall the same message appears
I have just set up a Mag 250 IPTV stb / HDPVR2 GE Plus / Hauppauge WinTV / NPVR / WebGrab ++ EPG setup. I am now waiting for a Hauppauge blaster and remote to complete the setup (New option for the new GE Plus model as advised by Hauppauge). This is only for watching and recording TV channels.
I am currently in Cyprus and do not have OTA or cable or satellite (Not in English, anyway). Hence the Mag.
The Mag connects to a provider that sends over 300 channels â all SKY and all Freeview plus some US channels. It has HDMI output and a USB port that can be connected directly to an external HDD for recording live. But, this is what NPVR does and the Mag doesnât give an on screen EPG for scheduling future recordings which is where I want to be.
All works OK - so far (1st day) - All the UK channels are available in the schedule and clicking on one starts and stops the recording as it should. Pic quality is fine.
However â and obviously â regardless of which EPG channel I click, it only records the channel that the Mag is sending because they all have to be mapped to the same input and NPVR sees only 1 channel.. This is not unexpected. Then, obviously, when a recording starts, it disconnects the other live channel that is being watched.
First option / solution is a second Mag box â and a third ... etc. but that requires a new sub each time ... will get expensive.
But - I see in the Wiki that digital signals can be handled so that NPVR can see all channels such that each channel can be mapped individually.
Does anyone have any experience with the Mag and maybe a suggestion as to how â if possible â I can see all 300 channels in the same way that digi signals can be seen. Maybe additional kit of some kind ??
I am having problems with some recurring recordings. I double click in the TV Guide and tell it to record all recordings on all channels or on this channel and when I look at the TV Guide it is not red. Sometimes if I go to the recurring recording list there will actually be two sets of recurring recordings for this show and still will not record. Quick record works fine. Examples of shows that I cannot seem to set up a recurring recording are NCIS: New Orleans, Mysteries of Laura and Burn Notice. Most recurring recordings work fine.
I use schedules Direct for the TV Guide
Dale
hello!
Just wondering if there's a setting to auto delete the live-xxxxxxxx files that appear in my c:\temp folder.
I'm guessing they remain there if something hasn't exited as it should have etc. Not really a problem, but over time it builds into quite a list, taking up space.
I guess I could just write a batch file to delete them and schedule it once a day - but...
I've just discovered NextPVR and thought I would use it to put an old(ish) laptop and a Pinnacle PCTV72e USB digital receiver to good use.
All goes well, in that all the channels I'd expect are scanned and found, and the EPG is populated for all. Most channels work fine (BBC, ITV, C4, etc), but I cannot get sound/video for some channels; in particular Dave and Pick.
Any thoughts on something I've done wrong/not configured?
I know this issue has been talked about repeatedly, but I've been using a workaround (restarting NextPVR on client) to solve the issue and I figure I would ask the question if anyone can see the problem.
Specs:
This issue happens across the LAN and http connections are not involved and there are no multiple clients involved.
3.2.9 on both client and server - no additional plugins anywhere
Win8 (server), Win7 (client)
Colossus fed with a Directv box via HDMI for both video and audio on server. The Directv box is set to always output at 720p (no native)
No firewalls anywhere
I launch the client and everything looks and works great for a while. After a while, the client will freeze and requires a restart of NPVR (on client) to get back in business. What I've noticed is that the freezes seem to occur during commercial breaks and rarely, if ever, during the show itself.
I have attached the NPVR log from the client and the Nrecord log from the server right after the freeze. In anticipation of recording the logs with the freeze I deleted all the log files before starting the process, so they should only reflect the start of NPVR, the client working and then the client freezing.
Add'l notes:
The network connection works flawlessly for remoting in (UltraVNC) and transferring/playing anything from the server, so I don't believe that is the cause.
Recordings them selves always seem to be flawless (I never watch live TV on the server, so I'm not sure if that works flawlessly or not)
I use a bit of powershell for work, so when it came to configuring postprocessing stuff for a freshly installed OS and new configuration of NPVR, I opted to rewrite in Powershell.
Not so much looking for support (I have everything in my configuration working (knock on wood) that I can tell) - but I figured I'd post up what I wrote just in case anyone else is interested. As usual, use at your own risk. Oh, and I wrote and tested all of this on Powershell 4 in Windows 7.
Here's what my main postprocessing.bat file looks like:
Code:
REM use the below line for logging output
REM powershell -NonInteractive -ExecutionPolicy unrestricted -NoLogo -NoProfile -f "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\StreamFix.ps1" %1 >> C:\logs\postprocessing.log
REM Use this one for no log
powershell -NonInteractive -ExecutionPolicy unrestricted -NoLogo -NoProfile -f "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\StreamFix.ps1" %1
Hi there, at first I think Nextpvr is the best media center i ve tested since now.
i like its simplicity.
But because of that I miss some things.
At first I need something to shutdown the pc when a recording is done.
I like to see animations(animated video) when I listen to music, (like in XBMC).
When I start livetv I dures a while , can I accelerate it somehow?
Is there a german lanuage pack?
I have not much time in the moment to search about, thats why I ask.
Could NEWA saved searches be restricted to once per unique ID like NextPVR rules do. In this example, the same show Meredith Viera gets recorded many times, and I have to wait to actual day to delete them.
