  1080P60 TV Tuner / HD PVR 2
Posted by: heimdm - 2015-01-06, 03:32 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Any recommendation for a 1080P60 tv tuner? I have a epiphany dvi2pcie capture card, but Next PVR does not appear to recognize it. I am capturing off a cable tv box, so channel changing is being done via IR. I was looking at the Hauppauge Colossus (only supports 1080i) or the Hauppauge HD PVR 2. With the HD PVR2, does anyone know if that is supported with Next PVR?

  IR Emitter
Posted by: heimdm - 2015-01-06, 03:24 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I will be controlling a cable set top box with IR. What is the best IR emitter to use? The rest of my home theatre uses GlobalCache IP2IR units and HomeSeer 3. With NextPVR support those?

  Time shift possible is X-NEWA?
Posted by: arkennedy75 - 2015-01-06, 01:31 AM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (11)

I've replaced my old PCH A-100 with a Raspberry Pi + XBMC + X-NEWA. I've never been able to get "time shifting" (ie catching up to live TV) a recording to work correctly. For instance, if a show starts at 8:00 and I start watching at 8:15, the file doesn't continue to add time to the recording after I've started watching.

Is time shifting possible similar to the old PCH where I could "catch up to live TV"? Thanks.

  More EPG issues
Posted by: Tre4Bax - 2015-01-05, 07:46 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hi There,

About 5 days ago my box started crashing when the EPG is updated. I noticed it in the morning as a disconnection between NPVR and the recording service. Tonight I manually ran the update process and witnessed the crash and it happens every time. I've rem'd out all the lines in the update/and post update batches but it still crashes.

Anyone got any ideas?

Trevor

Winegard Flat Wave Amplified Antenna 24.99 shipped
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2015-01-05, 04:54 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Newegg has the above antenna, refurbished. I got it on a previous sale and it was marked as a Costco return. Looked and works perfectly.

I use this with great performance in a mountainous area with low power translators. Works great. Mine is intalled behind a chest against an outside wall facing in approximately the correct direction.

NEWA v2.15 Server Error (NPVR 3.3.8)
Posted by: NIS1169 - 2015-01-04, 07:34 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (15)

I'm new to NextPvr, coming from MythTv.

I just installed NPVR for the first time yesterday, and it works fine from the windows application (watch tv, see guide data), but no matter what I do, I can't get NEWA to work. I either get webpage not available or the following server error:

Code:
Server Error in '/' Application. Compilation Error Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately. Compiler Error Message: CS0012: The type 'N_EWA.Global' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'App_Code.kirt26ct, Version=2.15.5482.19589, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. Source Error: Line 273: } Line 274: Line 275: protected ASP.global_asax ApplicationInstance { Line 276: get { Line 277: return ((ASP.global_asax)(this.Context.ApplicationInstance)); Source File: c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\0a635572\38fd2de4\App_Web_newa_cssmasterpage.master.cdcab7d2.ojnur9un.0.cs Line: 275 Show Detailed Compiler Output: Show Complete Compilation Source:

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both NPVR and .NET v4.5.2. Initially, when I first installed NPVR, I got the error "web page not available", so I deleted NEWA and reinstalled it manually via the wiki. That is when I get the above error.

I get the error when I go to http://localhost:8866/guide2.aspx

When I go to http://localhost:8866/guide.aspx, I get a similar error, the only difference I can tell is the line numbers.

I have also tried deleting the "temporary ASP.NET files" folder and reinstalling NPVR.

I have NDigitalHost, NextPVR, NRecord and NTray as exceptions in my windows firewall.

Attached are my logs. I've also included the Detailed Compiler Output and Complete Compilation Source logs, from the error above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

John

Are subchannels supposed to work now on KODI 14.0 ?
Posted by: vmq - 2015-01-04, 06:29 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (5)

I just updated my XBMC installation to KODI (Windows Vista system) and was hoping the the "tuner not available" problem for channels with subchannels would be solved. The EPG is there for all channels, but I can only watch channels with integer channel numbers.

Is this a known problem for KODI? (I know it was a known problem in XBMC)

mysterious issue with Hauppage 930c HD
Posted by: wowter - 2015-01-04, 01:30 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

I am having weird issuses with my Hauppage 930c HD. It will not work with the DVB-C stream generated by a genexis fiber modem. I also have a
normal cable provider (ziggo), whose signal i can use for testing purposes.

-930c works with the ziggo DVB-C signal
-930c does not work with the genexis DVB-C signal
-set top box (Humax 5100C) DOES work with the genexis signal as well as the ziggo signal.
-Set-top box says genexis signal strenght is "excellent"
-the analog signal generated by the genexis DOES work on the 930c HD, only the DVB-C does not (cannot find channels)
-WinTV7 also cannot find any channels.
-i obviously tried to search All/all, with both NextPVR and WinTV7. this took several hours...

so: the genexis router generates a correct DVB-C signal, because it works with a generic set-top box (304mhz, 6875 kBd, QAM-64, netid 4800),
the 930c works correctly, because it easily finds the channels from the ziggo DVB-C signal. Everything is tested on the same cables, same spot.

Anyone any idea as to why the 930cHD cannot find the channels from the genexis?

any help would be much appreciated

  Wrong AC3 Audio Stream Again
Posted by: crossnet - 2015-01-04, 02:20 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Hi Sub,

I think this old problem has returned. (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...io+channel).

Several of our cable channels have their AC3 audio streams reversed. The English language is on track 2 rather than track 1. I can manually reselect it, but it resets each time it skips through a commercial. I have checked the language settings and they are all set to eng.

There was a patch to NPVRTSReader2.ax in December 2012 which fixed the original problem. I believe it set the language by its name rather than track number. I tried it in ver 3.8, but it isn't compatible and causes a crash.

The logs are attached. I can also provide samples of the videos if you need them.

Thanks again for all your help,

emr
