I've installed the Movies plugin after getting metadata from Media Companion. The Movies menu item appears and it appears to have done its work. The problem is that when I try and open the Menu Movies, I get an error message which basically says it can't find the output.xml file. I can see the output.xml file, right where it's supposed to be (users/public/npvr/plugins/movies/user.xml) and it appears to have the necessary info in it. What's the problem. The only variable that occurs to me is that the Movie files are on my server and the Movies plugin and xml files are on my client Win7 machine which works fine in all other aspects (they're connected by Cat5). Everything looks to be properly set up...it just isn't working. Any thoughts?
New to NPVR. Setup with Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 under Windows 7. NPVR sees the card and can get the channels. I don't have a EPG service and the over-the-air EPG seems to only pick up titles for a couple of channels. Anyway, I'm trying to setup some recurring programs and I can choose them in the TV Guide based on their times and channels, but when I save them I don't see a way to edit the program title "(no show details)". I can set the recurring recording (I set hour-long recordings to 30 minutes of ending buffer because it assumes all recordings are 30 minutes), but the shows don't show up in the pending recordings list and do not record. Live TV works fine. I've tried to attach my logs here.
I cannot access the NEWA log in screen. When I enter the address I receive an "unable to connect" error message. I have tried changing the port, turning off my firewall and uninstalling and reinstalling NPVR after deleting the /web file. I'm running the latest version of NPVR and it works flawlessly except for this issue. I confirmed that the services entry for NPVR is configured correctly. I've confirmed I am using the correct static IP address. I also have confirmed that I have checked the enable web server check box.
As an experiment, I tried installing NPVR on another machine on my network and was able to access that instance of NEWA without any issues. I've read through the forum and have found references of NEWA not working after an upgrade. I hadn't tried to use NEWA until recently.
I cannot get any NPVR section but Videos to recognize both xml and jpg files in addition to a video file. Pictures will recognize jpg but not xml. I need two sections that will recognize both, one for movies and one for TV. Is there a relatively easy to accomplish this or am I out of luck?
Since the provider is nuking clearQAM for the blasted encrypted channels, was forced to get a cablecard.
Question is, just how are you supposed to scan cablecard channels ?
I did select the HDHR ones and enable them, and disabled the old QAM ones, then a scan does a instant update, but those are pretty much the same channels as I had before. (ie, local broadcast ones)
Do I have it correct that it reads that info from the silicondust HDhomerunprime setup program, and that is it, or did I miss something ?
There have been reports that we can (& have been able to for months & months) get Channel Nine from Aus on Optis D1, refer Lyngsat image attached.... but what is needed in the tuning ini for QPSK (if it's possible at all)?? I have tried all the options as in the D1-S2 test ini by just changing it to 12381 but it finds zilch.
Hi, things seem to be going well here so far. I am just wondering though if there might be a way to adjust the Windows priority of the NPVR recording process (nrecord) from within NPVR.
I have been able to accomplish this with simpler programs in the past by just incorporating the Windows "start /abovenormal" command in my shortcut, but in this case there might need to be more of a hack, considering that there are multiple processes running in the background.
I'v discovered two minor bugs, not sure if they are new to 3.2.9 thou.
1. If you watch an in-progress recording at the catch-up point and then stop, npvr says that you have watched this recording to completion and asks if you want to delete it, even thou it is still recording.
2. If you import recurring-backup.xml with a non empty database, all your recurring recordings will be recorded double from the next epg update. There really should be a duplicate check in the database, at least for recurring recordings.
Note : This is repeat of the posting NRecord Crsshing so that it will be searchable.
NRecord crashing with last message âFindFilterByName failed to locate filter: NPVR Net Push Sourceâ
Attached are two logs and two sets of Windows Event Log entries.
On 11 May there was to be two recordings at 1700 and two recordings at 1730. NRecord crashed at 1700. I restarted NRecord at 1751 and the two 1730 recordings started without error. Although there is no log entries for FindFilterByName success, all of the successful recordings have a message âRemoving filter NPVR Net Push Sourceâ
I had suspected that Bitdefender AV+ was involved somehow but there is no events in the Windows Event Log or events in Bitdefender that it has been involved.
Hi chaps.
I am running xmbc on my windows 7 ultimate 64bits PC and have been struggling to use live TV and set up NextPVR 3.2.9 in XMBC (Gotham version).
First and foremost do I need a PCI tuner to receive TV channels in XMBC so I can watch live TV?
I have TV catch up addon on and can see UK freeview channels. How can I get them to be recognised by NextPVR?
I have a list of TV channels in a strm file can they be included in NextPVR?
What I have done so far is: Downloaded NextPVR 3.2.9 and installed the program under administrator.
I went to devices and it recognise my xmbc program. So I highlighted it and pressed OK.
when Web server is enabled and "act as client PC" is ticked.
In XMBC I can see on top a message saying: PVR manager is starting up - Loading channels... from clients. Afterwards when I select live TV I have a menu on the right hand side with no TV channels and in the system tab under system info I can see that the PVR service appears with the following PVR service information:
CLIENT NUMBER 1 OF 1
PVR backend 127.0.0.1
Version 1.0
Address connected
Disksize total 0 gbites
Channels 0
Recording 0
Upcoming recording 0
In NPVR I have the following message: server database not found at: hushpc/npvr/npvr.db3.
When I untick "act as a client" nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?
Many thanks for your help.
