Hi,
I had NextPVR wokring ok up until about a week ago.
Then one day I tried to start it and nothing happened.
I checked the recording service and it was not running.
I tried starting it manually, got this -
"Windows could not start the NPVR Recording Service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly"
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling with the same results.
I failed to record Orphan Black for the last three weeks for one reason or another missing the new episodes. I had upgraded my Charter account to Silver expressly for the BBC HD Orphan Black series. Last night the failure was due to my having turned on Windows firewall for the first time since starting recording some weeks ago. I got zero file size .ts recordings and couldn't get LiveTV on NPVR. I got that sorted out this morning with firewall exceptions.
So, to test the quality of Fast DIVX AVI (at 100% quality) versus Normal (at 50% quality) on MCEBuddy, I recorded a half hour BBCA HD expecting to get Blue Planet. I got instead a half hour of a skin care commercial (Charter Cable has skin in the game, Tivo rentals?)
So, I looked at the Zap2it again and saw it was still suppose to be Blue Planet on channel 770 but on NPVR channel 770 LiveTV there was another half hour long infomercial. I turned on the Charter set-top HD cable box (which I avoid if at all possible) to see what it had on 770 and found Blue Planet playing. I said okay, I must have the wrong lineup on Schedulesdirect.
Rather than go right to schedulesdirect and change the lineup I decided to troubleshoot the lineup choice using Zap2it first. I shut down NPVR with the infomercial playing on ch 770 and allowed 770 to continue playing Blue Planet on the TV. There are various location choices for Charter in my area. The list shows Charter Digital Rebuild, Charter Cable, and Charter Digital. I had the rebuild for a while until they stopped providing it (last week's loss of Orphan Black) after which I changed schedulesdirect to the Charter Digital lineup and all seemed only. As it turns out the other two choices aside from Charter Digital are no longer functional. Clicking those on Zap2it gets a 404 page error.
So, I open NPVR LiveTV to ch 770 and now Blue Planet is playing right along with the TV.
So, I deduce that either NPVR had wrong data that changed or Charter is screwing with me.
How did the LiveTV of NPVR change from showing different content on a channel that is on the cablebox output to suddenly having the identical content without any changes? I have autoupdate of EPG turned off as I found it would kill MCEBUDDY transcoding.
As the title says my start/stop screen saver bat files are running at the wrong time
Seems to run after i start freds samsung app (StopScreenSaver.bat)
then after i shutdown the app/bluray player the (StartScreenSaver.bat) runs
I have this turning off the tv on the server which is the lounge TV ,(not good waf )
Hello all. I am having an issue I have never experienced with NPVR before but I have changed my computer drastically. Here is the data:
I was running Windows 7 up until today. No problems with my EPG data.
I bought a full copy of Windows 8.1 and did a fresh install on this computer. I downloaded all my media programs (I run Media Browser and use NPVR as the back end with XBMC as my client).
I installed NPVR, ran the channel scan and updated the EPG using Schedules Direct which is what I always use. When I went to my TV Guide I saw that the information is all there, but it's 4 hours off for each channel. I went to my SD account and refreshed my data there, emptied the EPG data in NPVR and updated the EPG again. Same thing. I reinstalled NPVR and did all the above again. Same problem.
I decided to try mc2xml for the EPG data in case it is an SD issue. After installing all of that, I selected the new EPG information using mc2xml and updated the EPG again. I went to the TV Guide and the same issue is there. All the data is 4 hours behind.
I can't figure out if this is an SD issue or a NPVR issue so here are my logs. It's doing the same thing though with my EPG data from SD or mc2xml.
Here are my logs:
This is the first time I have included any logs, so I hope it is all there. It seemed like a lot of files. Anyway, let me know if these aren't correct or if you need something else.
I have a lot of shows to schedule for recording so any help on this will be awesome!

Edit: Also, just so you know, I did also install all of the patches listed in the sticky thread.
I'm having issues playing live TV on NPVR. I get just a black screen with no sound on every channel. Live TV works perfectly in WMC.
I'm using the Ceton InfiniTV 4 PCI-e tuner, with only one of the tuners configured so far - until I get it working, then I'll copy configs over to the other four tuners - using the tutorial from the wiki and the networkrecorder plugin. My initial searches led me to believe the issue was decoder configurations. So far I've tried The Standalone filter pack (version 6, locked), ffdshow/ffdshow tryouts, and the k-lite mega codec pack and switched between every video decoder they provided with no difference. I've also switched through a few of the video renderers (EVR, VM9 and VM7 IIRC)
The build:
Celeron LGA 1155 dual core (2.6GHz)
Radeon HD6450 (2GB GDDR3)
8GB DDR3 RAM
Ceton InfiniTV4
Rosewill RNX-N300X PCI wifi card
Asus P8H77-M LE
Toshiba HDD 2TB
ASUS BD/DVD/CD Burner
sub Wrote:... using the 'use new metadata screens in Recordings' checkbox on the Settings->Misc screen, but it's a bit lacking in places. It'll get more attention in the next release.
Please may future metadata enhancements in the Recordings screens include the ability to scroll the description field. I find that descriptions from online sources get cut off in the existing screens. Thanks.
If i try to play a 4/3 DVD on 16/9 screen using the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder, the buttons navigation (the highlighting) is not correct. I think the postition is set to 16/9 layout instead of 4/3.
16/9 DVDs are fine.
SUB, can you please look on that issue?
I have not been recording shows for the past two weeks because NPVR does not seem to want to connect to my USB Tuner. I have tries fresh installs of 3.1.1 and 3.2.9, and they both have the same issue. This seems to have just randomly started one day.
I can use the tuner in WMC. Before I did a fresh install, when I tried to play a channel it would say it could not connect to my tuner. The 1st try would say that, but the second try would turn on my tuner's status light. (While still saying it could not connect.)
Here is the NPVR.log (NRecord is the only other log and it has nothing important in it.)
I attempted to scan for channels twice. http://pastebin.com/15FWpezg
Edit-
Windows 7 64-bit
Things I have tried:
Reboot
Re-install Tuner Driver
Re-Install NPVR
