I cannot press fast forward (set to skip forward instead of fast play) more than a few times without the video freezing/stalling, then eventually (after 1 - 2 minutes) returning to the recordings menu and stating that the program was watched to completion and would I like to delete it?
I've tried almost every combination of video/audio decoders, run the source file (I have 4 recordings I've tested this with) through ts doctor (no video errors but 2 audio errors), updated my video card drivers to the latest version, and even disabled the audio decoder entirely to attempt to isolate the issue. It almost always freezes around 1.5 minutes into the program.
What else should I try? I'm running a clean install of 3.2.9. Log attached.
I am having difficulty getting NextPVR working. It will not record or play live TV. WMC is working fine. I make the appropriate change in HDHomerun to point to the NextPVR app, but I just get a black screen. I have attached my log files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have recently installed npvr on XP with a Nova-DT DVB-T dual tuner here in UK (Yorkshire/CEntral regions).
No problems on a previous XP machine with GBPVR.
I have noticed I am getting partial recordings.
I have added an 18:00hrs task to restart the recording service.
Tonight recording 20:00-->21:00 and 21:00 --> 22:00 (pre 1min, post 2 min)
as 21:02 the problem occured - a windows error pop-up (sorry didnt get screen print) and the logs reporting 'async stop taking way too long; and then 'Stop() appeared to have failed. Exiting...'
result is the first recording appears ok, but the 2nd one has stalled/stopped at 21:02. Restarting the recording service manually resumes recording to new file
It would be great if there could be an option to pad only when possible by show. Sort of like how WMC does without the back to back on same channel needs 10 minutes oddity. For instance if I have 2 tuners and recordings are setup like:
1. Channel1 8-9 Show1 weekly show
2. Channel2 8-9 Show2 weekly show that you want to make sure finishes
3. Channel1 9-10 Show3 that only airs once so you really want it
4. Channel2 9-10 Show4 weekly show
Currently you can setup 1 to not pad, 2 to postpad, 3 to prepad, 4 to not prepad. Then it would require a change in padding after air to either post pad 1 or prepad 4. If one or the other could be set to pad when possible these sorts of changes wouldn't be needed.
Another thing is some shows always end earlier than scheduled, it would be great if there was a way to automatically stop them early, 10s, 15s, 20s, 30s, 45s, 60s, 90s, 120s, 3m, etc. To free the tuner up for another recording maybe by using negative padding?
Thanks for the program it's the only pvr besides wmc that can use my assortment of tuners.

I would like to see a feature added to NPVR where we have the option to dim the other monitor(s) during video playback. And maybe add a percent scale for how much to dim them by.
My HTPC has a 7" touchscreen and sits in front of the TV. That screen is a bit too distracting when watching movies in a dark room.
On several occasions the X-NEWA clock has not updated. At the end of watching a recording X-NEWA displays the time when you started watching the recording and usually takes a minute or two to refresh to the correct time. However on several occasions the clock displays the original time after playing several recordings.
Last night X-NEWA still displayed the time 19:04 when I shut the client down at about 19:55 several minutes after I stopped watching a recording. When I returned home just before 23:00 and switched on the client it was still showing the time as 19:04. Thinking I must not have shut down the client I rebooted it and again the time was still 19:04 but because this client does not autostart X-NEWA I noticed that the XBMC time was correct.
I'm pretty new to nextpvr but I've been using WMC for years. I got everything setup and it worked fine for a few mins and then it started just freezing after 3-5 secs of live tv playback. I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. Any ideas?
Hi, no issue to report but just a question. Does the database which holds the imported Schedules Direct info eventually "delete" and "pack" the rolled off schedule info? For instance, if I move files out of the PC directory they get recorded into, I notice that their entries disappear from the NEWA listing. I am just wondering if they also get deleted from the database as well, or if they just get orphaned and perpetually stay there. (am I using it right?)
Also I am wondering about the older channel entries that just seem to "roll off" on their own. Do they get deleted at some point?
I really should upgrade to NPVR (and I have for a DVB-T card) but for my analogue cable I still use GBPVR. This is because I have yet to find a satisfactory channel changing solution in NPVR that can use my USB-UIRT to blast channel changes to my cable box.
Up till now I have been using a Hauppauge PVR250 card which works well. But I have upgraded to a Brix compact PC that only has USB so I need to find a USB hardware assisted capture solution. The two options that seem viable are the Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1900 or the Hauppauge HD PVR.
Documentation suggests the HVR-1950 (NTSC) version is supported but nothing for the HVR-1900 and I can't find anything for the HD PVR which is PAL/NTSC.
Can somebody help?
I tried looking in the bda.ini posting but while it mentions the bda.ini is posted, it's not and the links just loop back to each other!
