Tuner Hardware – Hauppauge Win TV-7164 BDA ATSC/QAM (tuner 1 & 2) Windows Client
Edition Windows 10 Home, Version 22H2, installed on 12/14/2020 OS build 19045.3448
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19044.1000.0
Windows Server
Edition Windows 10 Pro, Version 22H2, Installed on 3/24/2021. OS build 19045.3448,
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19044.1000.0
Window Server – NextPvr Client version 5.0.0.190616
Firestick Client
Firestick 4K Max, Fire OS 7.6.5.2, Fire TV Home Version 6470113.1 Firestick Client – Kodi, version 19.5
Symptoms: Windows and Android Kodi always display a message that I need NextPvr Client version 5.0.3. I have upgraded the Windows NextPvr to the latest version. I have no control over the client Kodi because it installs whatever version of NextPvr that it needs to work.
The latest version of Kodi version 20 will not work, only Version 19.5 of Kodi
I used to record two shows that (I thought) overlapped by about a minute or two. I never had a problem with it recording one then switching to the next one when it came on. Now it doesn't want to record both if there's an overlap. Perhaps Seth Meyers changed their start time so it actually DOES overlap and I was mistaken thinking it did before.
Either way, I'd prefer for it to just record the first and then stop when the second show starts rather than it refuse to try recording one of em at all.
I updated the software a few days ago. Has the behavior changed or what should I expect the normal behavior to be? Is it really "don't try recording at all if there's even a second of overlap"?
Tried to get NextPVR on Openmediavault 6. Installed NextPVR with Docker following this guide https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Install-Docker. Everything worked until the last step,
--device /dev/dvb:/dev/dvb \
I ran NextPVR, but the card wasn't listed under devices. Then I just tried Debian and the card was there, but couldn't get any channels. I know the card works, tried Ubuntu and it found the available channels.
I didn't get the logs for the OMV install, will try again and get those logs. Here are the logs for Debian.
For the past 10 years I've just used it for FTA over DVB-S - but am now switching to a NextPVR back-end and Kodi front end. FTA channels are only in SD over DVB-S, and I can get them in HD via .m3u8 and iptv.
So far (3 days in) NextPVR looks great, although after 20 years with VDR it's a bit of a change.
Question - I have hundreds of VDR recordings which I'd like to import into NextPVR.
The VDR recording metadata is stored in individual recording directories such as:
../Tipping_Point/2023-09-27.14.58.1-0.rec/
Within the directories are ts files, info files and index files.
I think everything NPVR will need for metadata can be derived from the directory name (which includes date and time) and what's in the info file. For instance:
C S160.0E-47-22-1035 TVNZ 1
E 85 1695780000 3600 4E 16
T Tipping Point
D G Fantastic quiz show in which four players take on a machine in the hopes of winning its 10,000 pounds jackpot. Only one can win!
G 70
R 9
X 2 03 eng
X 2 03 ita
X 3 03 eng
F 25
P 50
L 99
@ <epgsearch><channel>1 - TVNZ 1</channel><update>0</update><eventid>85</eventid><bstart>120</bstart><bstop>600</bstop></epgsearch><pin-plugin><protected>no</protected></pin-plugin>
If I create a script which creates the xml file for NPVR for each recording, any suggestions on how I import this?
From the wiki/help:
ts files:
AUDIO/VIDEO DATA
The files 00001.ts...65535.ts are the actual recorded data files. In order to keep the
size of an individual file below a given limit, a recording may be split into several
files. The contents of these files is Transport Stream (TS) and contains data packets that
are each 188 byte long and start with 0x47. Data is stored exactly as it is broadcast,
with a generated PAT/PMT inserted right before every independent frame.
info file (optional - but useful)
INFO
The file info (if present in a recording directory) contains a description of the
recording, derived from the EPG data at recording time (if such data was available). The
Aux field of the corresponding timer (if given) is copied into this file, using the '@'
tag. This is a plain ASCII file and contains tagged lines like the EPG DATA file (see the
description of the epg.data file). Note that the lowercase tags ('c' and 'e') will not
appear in an info file. Lines tagged with '#' are ignored and can be used by external
tools to store arbitrary information.
In addition to the tags used in the epg.data file, the following tag characters are
defined:
F <frame rate>
L <lifetime>
P <priority>
@ <auxiliary data>
index (optional)
INDEX
The file index (if present in a recording directory) contains the (binary) index data into
each of the the recording files 00001.ts...65535.ts. It is used during replay to determinethe current position within the recording, and to implement skipping and fast forward/back
functions. See the definition of the cIndexFile class for details about the actual
contents of this file.
About my setup:
I have an Ubuntu virtual machine with NextPVR on a VMware ESXi. So far everything works.
The channels in the web interface are all displayed correctly, but I also have channels that have subcategories, for example series and films, but I don't see them on the webinterface.
What could be the problem, have I forgotten something
The popup menu for an existing recording has a Find All menu item to see upcoming episodes. Might be nice to also have a Find Existing (or something like that) to show recordings currently in my library.
I've just setup NextPVR and seeing some strange behavior which i can't explain.
My configuration is:
Hardware: Dell Wyse 3040
Tuner: Xbox One TV Tuner
OS: Debian 12 Linux
I have NextPVR installed and running and it detects the tuner. I choose the uk-CrystalPalace transmitter and it finds 11 channels but only those on multiplex PSB3.
If i plug the aerial into the TV it finds all the channels and the TV reports the signal strength as 10/10.
Is anyone able to help shed some light on why i'm not getting any channels from the other multiplexes?
Hello and thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
Currently I'm moving from a setup with MythTv with a legacy HDHomeRun HDHR (2 tuner) to using Docker on Debian 12. I'm able to see the two tuners in Settings -> Devices, but clicking "Scan channels" on tuner XXXXX-0 leaves me on a screen which is stuck and says "Loading EPG mapping". I'm using Schedules Direct for ATSC, and I was able to successfully login under Settings-> Guide.
hello
I installed the program and the windows program and it worked perfectly the fist time but when I closed it it would not reload sayin connection failure check config. I suspect it is that I changed the password. How do I go about changing the config within yet another uiclient?
Thank you for your time
