Bug in watched recording logic (videos plugin)
Posted by: gEd - 2014-06-22, 10:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

In videos plugin.
I watched R:\archive\green wing\series 1\episode 1.avi. When I then went to watch R:\archive\green wing\series 2\episode 1.avi, the plugin incorrectly showed that I had watched the show. i.e. is doesn't take account of the full path name, only the file name.

Universe Plugin throws exception when keys are pressed.
Posted by: SdProgrammer - 2014-06-22, 12:53 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (4)

Hello,

I an running nPVR v3.2.9 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. I have installed the Universe Plugin. I am able to select UPNP locations using my mouse, but any key press throws an exception. Makes it impossible to scroll or use on devices without a mouse. Attached are the error and my logs. I appreciate any help you may provide.

Does NPVR do any buffering/processing with HDhomerun PRIME ?
Posted by: Spark - 2014-06-22, 12:52 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I am curious, does NPVR do anything special with the feed it gets from the PRIME ?
What I mean is, say you have NPVR doing a recording, and then you do another recording via the PRIME itself.
Once done, if you compare the recordings, they are not the same, and the one on NPVR is usually bigger.
They don't even match while doing a hex diff of the files.

http://192.168.1.18:5004/auto/v188?duration=3720 (3720= 1 hour and 2 mins)
Have NPVR record same channel, with 1 min pre and 1 min post padding.

I am thinking NPVR is doing extra processing on the stream ?

X-NEWA 2.4.0 now with Confluence skins
Posted by: mvallevand - 2014-06-21, 12:24 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (1)

Thanks to some really great work from pkscout X-NEWA native skins have been ported to the standard XBMC Confluence skin layout. With my skinning skills I couldn't even imagine undertaking this. The original layout is optionally available in the X-NEWA Settings. If you aren't using Confluence or still use Frodo you might need to continue to use the classic skin.

Feedback on the skins is appreciated.

The normal installation instructions apply and are here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post476601 Automatic updates should happen in your next few runs.

This update includes some changes that UJB has added in the next version of the NEWA API to set recording priority, I'll provide an update on this when it is available.

  Recording Service Lockup
Posted by: Cahalob - 2014-06-21, 06:17 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

When I went into my recordings directory, I selected one of my recordings and used the "Find All" option. A list of additional shows from the series popped up as intended. However, when I selected one of the shows for a quick record, the program locked up and stopped responding. I had to use task manager to stop the program.

I am using NextPVR ver 3.2.9
Windows 7 - 64 bit
Hauppauge HDPVR recorder.
MB = ASRock Z77 Extreme
CPU = i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
8 GB memory
Video = AMD Radeon HD 7700

  NEWA Auto scheduling - Wishlist
Posted by: mvallevand - 2014-06-19, 09:08 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - No Replies

UJB

I really like the description keyword recording feature of NEWA, it is so much easier than creating an advanced rule for the same thing in NextPVR but it has one serious drawback, it doesn't care if the same recording has been already recorded, deleted, or scheduled. I have one show coming up 6 times in the next week. In a future release I am hoping that you could provide a filter where the unique id is checked against against those three tables before scheduling a "new" recording.

Thanks,

Martin

  HTPC gear for sale
Posted by: McBainUK - 2014-06-19, 04:57 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I have some HTPC gear that I no longer use and I'd like to sell, cheap. All prices include UK postage.

  • TBS6280 Dual DVB-T2 "Freeview HD" tuner card + remote. £60
  • Hauppauge Nova-T 90002 DVB “Freeview” tuner card (with pass-through) + remote. £15
  • Hauppauge Nova-T 90003 DVB “Freeview” tuner card + remote. £15
  • Hauppauge Media MVP with cables and remote. £10
  • Sapphire Theatrix TV Tuner Card PCI (PAL) + remote. £10
Or, make me an offer on anything. I'm just cleaning out some stuff and would rather pass them on to someone who can give them a good home. PM me if interested.

I'd also like to sell a complete Windows 7 based PC. It’s near silent as it’s mostly my old HTPC (see link in sig). Again, PM me if interested.

  Recordings not updating
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2014-06-19, 03:08 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

I have setup openelec XBMC with NPVR but noticed that recordings do not update. I have to go to settings and do a manual EPG reset to get latest recordings. Is there a setting I am missing that automatically updates recordings? Thanks.

Windows 8.1 Update 1- Finally Installed Using Hacksaw and Stanley Knife
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2014-06-18, 09:48 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Ever since the April Patch Tuesday - like countless others I have been having serious install and stability issues on my HTPC.

First problem, the 2.3 mb update from the MSDN early release refused to install - after trying various proffered fixes from the net, the pc gave up and refused to boot into windows.

Second problem, reinstalling Windows 8 + updates then 8.1 + updates left me pre update 1 and still would not install the now 130+mb update.

Next found out how to get 8.1 Install Media from Microsoft http://www.howtogeek.com/187525/how-to-p...ows-8-key/
Installed telling windows not to install updates then downloaded and installed the one prerequisite update and all the update 1 updates in the order stated in this post http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Foru...server8gen

At last I thought success - But over the next few days Windows was becoming more and more unstable with several hard crashes or going into Zombie mode, causing disk errors and unrepairable SFC errors.
Several more installs always ended the same - Memory checked out OK, Disk checked OK, Windows installed OK, then slowly died over the next week or two.

Last week I found the problem - I hope.
After an "in-place" install Windows Maintenance kicked in as I was on the desktop. After about 5 mins the CPU temperature started to rise above the "normal" 65-70 C that Core Temp shows (this is one of the AMD Dual core CPU's that have dodgy thermistors) after a minute it reached 95C then in a few seconds started shooting up (Guess that's thermal runaway) to 130C where the PC tripped.

On opening up the lid on the PC (Can of Dust Remover in Hand) - Careful inspection revealed, not much dust, but that the Blu-Ray Drive was actually resting on the CPU Cooling Fan (Took me ages to find a short front to back case to fit under the TV - now I know why there aren't more Rolleyes)
Removed the fan from the cooler and then with the said Hacksaw & Stanley (craft) knife removed about 1/4 inch (6mm for those who have been Metrificated) off one side of the top flange of the Fan. Reinstalled the fan and leaned heavily on the Cooler Retaining Levers. Then ran Computer maintenance with no problems.

The HTPC has been running stable for the last 5 days - I believe that after Windows Updates the Maintenance Program now compresses a lot of unused files to save disc space, which uses 100% CPU for several minutes.

Moral of the story - Microsoft may be **** (insert expletive here) But some things may just be beyond their control.
