  IPTV Import Function
Posted by: JP23 - 2014-04-04, 12:57 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi Sub,

I'm having a little trouble with this, so I thought I'd better confirm it's meant to do what I think it does.

Am I right in thinking that I can use the import feature to bulk import channels?

If so, can I put them all in an M3U file, and use this to specify the stream address as well as the channel name?

Can I also use this to specify the channel number that the streams will be assigned in NPVR?

Can you give me some clues as to how the M3U should be formatted?

Also, NPVR seems to be expecting the M3U to be on the internet somewhere - can I point it to a location on the machine I'm using - I don't seem to be able to do so, but I probaly just don't know what the correct syntax is.

In progress recordings dont show as Red in EPG
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2014-04-04, 10:06 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Twice since the new version last weekend I have started NextPVR client in the EPG and noticed that recordings I had scheduled were not in progress as they should be. In both cases I started a "Quick Record" only to find later that the recording was in progress twice. I have just made a test recording and NextPVR displays an In Progress recording in red if the software was running at the time the recording starts. However if NextPVR starts during a recording it is not shown in red. This happens on both the server and client.

3.2.9 - Exception in "Ready Recordings"
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2014-04-04, 04:05 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

[EDIT] This appears to be the same "known" problem in another post. If so, ignore this, I'll look for the patch when it is available.

When selecting one of my "Ready Recordings" directories, I get the below exception. This is on the TV Series "The Americans", I have several other series and do not experience this exception. This happens to be the first row in the list (if it is a boundary type exception).

Code:
See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.ArgumentException: The path is not of a legal form. at System.IO.Path.NormalizePath(String path, Boolean fullCheck, Int32 maxPathLength, Boolean expandShortPaths) at System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(String path) at NextPVR.Libraries.LibraryDetailsScreenMultipleFiles.Initialise() at NUtility.Base.NewStyleButtonListPlugin.Activate() at NextPVR.ControllerForm.ActivateScreen(IScreenPlugin screenPlugin) at NextPVR.TV.Recordings2.ActivateItem(ListObject selectedObject) at NUtility.Controls.ListRenderers.UiListList.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at NUtility.Controls.UiList.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at NextPVR.TV.Recordings2.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at NextPVR.ControllerForm.OnKeyDown(Object sender, KeyEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ProcessKeyEventArgs(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ProcessKeyMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmKeyChar(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WndProc(Message& m) at NextPVR.ControllerForm.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

Additionally, the NPVR.log shows:

  UK Freeview Mendip .INI update
Posted by: Graham - 2014-04-03, 04:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

The Mendip transmitter has acquired a couple of additional muxes (one DVB-T and one DVB-T2). The attached .ini works for me ... It's a relief to know that I can watch Bonanza again ... I knew that something had been missing from my life these last forty years.

I suspect that COM7 (BBC News HD, BBC4 HD and others) is now available on several transmitters (using DVB-T2) ... I use http://www.ukfree.tv/closedown.php

  New Freesat EPG option functionality
Posted by: Bobins - 2014-04-02, 09:16 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Just want a sanity check of my understanding before I go fiddling with the EPG setup....

To Quote "- added a new 'Freesat (UK)' EPG option, which tells that app to use the existing DVB EPG functionality, but only from the Freesat EPG transponder (cutting down the time to fetch the EPG)"

Does this mean that if you select this option for a channel, that specific channel won't be scanned during OTA EPG update but it will draw its EPG from the Freesat channel that holds the full EPG (as long as that channel is selected to be scanned)?

Or have I misunderstood?

  Change Channel for pending recordings
Posted by: boringgit - 2014-04-02, 08:49 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

So my shiny new HD tuner card leaves me wanting to shift all of my pending recordings from SD channels, to their HD equivalent where there is one.

Is there an easy way to update the existing recordings?

I had some idea I could be clever and delve into the database directly, but it doesnt look easy (Im happy with graphical DB tools - but my SQL ability is in its infancy!)

Cheers!

very minor bug on dual-monitor setups
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2014-04-02, 04:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

this is one of those bugs that's almost so inconsequential it's not worth mentioning, but I'll mention it anyway in case it's something you want to fix...

when I launch NextPVR on a computer with 2 monitors, it opens the window on the primary monitor as it should. If I then drag the window to my secondary monitor and click the maximize button (or alt-enter) it goes full-screen back on the primary monitor. I can get it to full-screen on the secondary monitor only by dragging the window to the top of the screen, wherein Windows 7 maximizes it but the title bar is retained. Of course I could click the "open on secondary monitor" checkbox, but I just as often do want it running on the primary monitor and I assume I'd have the same problem again.

what's even a little weirder is that after maximizing the window on the second monitor by dragging to the top of the screen, so the title bar is present, if I THEN click the maximize button or hit alt-enter, it does go full screen on the secondary monitor BUT a narrow ribbon of the video overlays onto the edge of the primary monitor.

for my purposes having the title bar present is no big deal so no worries if this is non-trivial to fix.

  UK Freeview Local Channel Logos
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2014-04-02, 03:26 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

OK I have done what I vowed not to do - Here is a set of Local Channel Logos for UK Freeview TV - I don't even get Local TV!

I think I've got all of the first phase Stations apart from That's Oxford and That's Solent - cant find anything on the web to see what they look like.

Local Logos are now on the Wiki:

Can't watch live tv npvr client
Posted by: donschjr - 2014-04-02, 11:54 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I've been trying to get live tv working in xmbc and in trouble shooting discovered that my npvr client isn't working either. I can watch recorded shows in xmbc and in the npvr client. My laptop is running W8 with the most recent version of npvr on server and client. Xmbc versions 12.3 on w8 laptop, rasbmc on RPi and 12.2 on my nook hd+. Live tv won't work on any client. I turned firewall off on both the laptop and server and attempted to watch live tv with the npvr client, had to end task to get out of it, zipped logs for client and server and will attach.
PS: Also wanted to mention that at no time when testing npvr client of xmbc clients, mentioned in thread in xmbc subforum along with logs, does the tuner light come on on the dcr-2650 to indicate it is tuning a channel.

mce remote "red" button launches wintv - how do I stop tihs?
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2014-04-02, 03:03 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

As the title says, I just discovered that my mce remote "red" button launches winTV. Anyone have this and how do I stop it from launching wintv?

Thanks.

EDIT: I found out the problem. The Hauppauge IR software was on and it was for some reason intercepting the keystroke. I wouldn't have thought that it would do this though because I wasn't using an Hauppauge remote nor receiver per se. I was using the Hauppauge MCE IR receiver though from my old PVR MCE 150.
