I have been battling an issue with audio breaking up and getting out of sync over time. Watching live tv can go well for several hours some times and then others it only takes an hour for it to happen. Initially I thought it might be my backend server which was having some other hardware issues. Today I completed the build and install of a new server and the issue has persisted. That leaves me with the thought that this is a frontend issue and possibly the Zotac Mini (Atom 330 processor) box not be able to keep up.
The question that I have is, what version of Windows would be the best to use (Windows XP, Win 7, Win 8)? I have used Win 7 and now 8 with both demonstrating this issue. Am I even going to get this box to work competently as a frontend?
In the last couple of days, I've started seeing this error and I've not been able to figure it out:
"Recording Error: No errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal."
For tuners, my main NextPVR machine (version 3.2.9) has an internal Hauppauge HVR-2250 and also uses the tuners from a SiliconDust HDHomerun Dual network tuner. At this time, analog recordings on the Hauppauge sometimes work but most fail with this error. I haven't gotten any shows to record from the HDHomerun Dual, however. This was all working and only seems to have started having issues within the last couple of ways. For sure, a scheduled analog recording of Vikings worked fine last Thursday night and last weekend I was recording fine from the HDHomerun Dual.
I know the HDHomerun Dual is working fine because 1) I can watch live TV from it and 2) My second NextPVR machine (it is still on the version prior to 3.2.9) is able to record from it fine as well. I'm not quite sure what might be happening, so I've attached the Logs folder in a zipped file and recordings were attempted on 4/6/2014 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM and again from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Neither worked and failed with the message above (there were zero byte video files for each of these recording attempts).
I have just updated to 3.2.9. I think the local transmitter (Meridian Whitehawk Hill) had changed a few things so I deleted all the channels and rescanned. Now all the channels are in random order. The previous version of nextpvr always ordered them correctly according to the free view numbering system. What have I done wrong?
I just did a fresh install on Windows 8.1 (with Media Center Pack) and for some reason the Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder is not available in the drop-down list for MPEG-2 decoders in the TV section but is available for MPEG-2 in the DVD section. Any ideas why this is the case? For some reason the LAV Video decoder behaves badly with NPVR and MPEG-2 content (when skipping ahead I get a pixelated picture and it takes a while to start playing again and the video "fast forwards" to catch up with the audio). I found a fix for those who are having trouble with their programs being recorded at the wrong time after daylight saving, but that is only for automatically scheduled recordings. What about manual recordings. Can I still clear the EPG and then update it and my recordings will work as normal, or do I need to delete them from the database and redo them all over again?
Also, I'm having difficulty inputing the right time and date format in the newa interface while trying to set up a manual recording. In case you're wondering,
I cannot use the interface built in to the npvr program, only the web interface.
Please help if you can.
