Having recently gone through the nausea of setting up my USB PVR150 as the tuner for my Sky STB output and having to enter all the channel and blaster numbers I am very wary of upsetting things.
Q. Does the import button on the setup for analogue channels merge, overwrite, replace or whatever the existing channels. This to setup new channels that appear in the xml EPG source.
I know with DVB-T scanning that existing channels are greyed out and only new ones have check boxes. I just wonder what happens with analogue. I'm so wary of having to set the all up again......
Weirdly tonight a single set of channels associated with one MUX have decided to just show a black screen. All the other channels seem to work fine but this one does not. I have no way to check the signal strength, but I guess this could be low although it all seems to be coming in fine on the other tellies in the house despite the fact that they get a second hand (so should be weaker feed).
I installed XBMC on a my laptop and configure the nextpvr plugin. I was connecting to the NextPvr but could not watch tv as it said no available tuner was found. It appeared the recording service for some reason had the tuner tied up. Stopped the recording service and now receive Nextpvr client connection failed and connection lost errors and I have re enabled the recording service. I can browse to port 8866 of my Nextpvr server no problem. I have disabled all the firewalls and even installed XBMC on my android tablet and receive the same errors. I do have the the XBMC &Touch clients enabled. I have taken the default password out and put it back. What am I missing?
however I dont have an event oid since im updating a "Recurring Recording", which might not have any events in the currently available epg, and if im updating one that has "Any Channel, Any Time", there is no start/stop. can this be updated so if a recurringid is passed, that is accepted?
also whenever i call it passing in an event_id for a new recurrence, eg:
it always returns the very first recurring recording as a result and not the newly created one. not sure if im just doing something wrong on this one or not...
I recently added a Hauppauge 950Q to my HTPC to go with my Hauppauge 1600. No problem with the actual turners but adding the 950 has caused a problem with my remote control. I've been using the 1600's IR remote receiver for years but adding the 950, which has a built in remote receiver, has caused the 1600's receiver to stop working. In the end I had to remove the 950.
Does anyone know if I could specify to use the 1600 remote receiver?
If I understand correctly, when <autoShowSearch> is set to true then whenever I connect into NEWA for the first time in a given day, it runs auto-search.
Earlier I was simply trying to connect in to view the /API details and kept getting an asp error response which seemed to indicate a problem when searching for QI on BBC TWO. When I checked the web.log I saw the following...

I had something similar a couple of days ago (possibly exactly the same, I can't remember) but it mysteriously fixed itself somehow (possibly as a result of restarting nrecord). This time around I even rebooted but got the same each time I tried to connect. Eventually I tried setting <autoShowSearch> to false and it fixed the problem, i.e., the auto-search was no longer being performed on connection.
...I normally manually run the NEWA_AutoSearch CLI once a week and I know I've done that since 2nd Nov - also I've successfully connected in to NEWA with a browser several times over the past couple of days and know that auto-search must have run successfully as the "Pending" recordings show a ton of Agatha Christie Poirot and Marple episodes and they only get scheduled via auto-search.
Just wondering what would cause that exception to be thrown and why the last search date is two months out.
I'm looking for a low cost, low power consumption XBMC Frontend that can integrate with a NextPVR backend and play 1080i broadcast MPEG2 streams. I thought I found it in the OUYA, but sadly MPEG2 hardware decoding is not available on the OUYA. I do have a raspberry pi, but the performance navigating menus and processing JSON data is really slow.
Does anyone have any ideas? I am open to either Linux or Android OS. I'd really like to keep it under $100. I know that boxes like the GBox Midnight exist, but I'm trying not to buy yet another device only to find it doesn't perform like I'd want. Any help is appreciated.
We've been using standby a lot more recently, but one of the annoying things that's been happening is that when the PC comes out of standby NPVR is fullscreen and in focus (as it should be), but once a video is started (or Live TV), then the Windows taskbar appears over the display.
NPVR doesn't lose focus, and it doesn't happen every time, but it's certainly more than 50% of the time. The only way I've found to get it to draw on top again (short of a kill/restart) is a *right* click of the mouse to force the popup menu to appear.
NPVR is launched initially with -ontop not that it seems to help in this case.
Almost working... but I'm not getting any audio on Live TV.

My HDHomeRun app can tune any station and watch TV with audio.
And Windows Media Center works fine.
But NPVR can't decode the audio.
What are the ... buttons next to the pulldown for? I click on those and they don't do anything.
I have a 2nd NPVR setup using a Win7-64 computer and a Silicon Dust HDHomeRun Dual and got the channel scan to work fine (trick was to disable the Win7 firewall).
My vacation home has cable and I have that functional so I figured I'd also get it working here at my main home.
But I don't have cable here. I cut the cord last year and installed an antenna since I am close enough to metro Boston to pick up a reasonable number of channels.
But now I am trying to get the Electronic Program Guide to work.
I was hoping the major networks would broadcast the data but looks like only 2 or 3 channels (out of 17) have any data at all and even then it is only for the next hour or two. Not particularly useful.
So my question is: In the USA, do the networks broadcast the EPG data or do I have to use xmltv or is my setup screwed up somehow?
The cable companies wipe all the EPG in the stream so I use XMLTV at my other house but it appears there is very little data to start with!
How are others in the USA with an Antenna doing the EPG?
