  Recording indicator on main menu
Posted by: spinnaker - 2013-10-25, 02:22 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

It would be nice to have a recording indicator that shows on the same screen as the main menu. Or perhaps it should show right under the date and time.

Perhaps show what is being recorded or just a small indicator per tuner that is being used.

Delete recordings from database but not from disk?
Posted by: spinnaker - 2013-10-25, 01:41 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (8)

I would like to do some testing on import for a utility I am working on. Is it possible to delete the database entry without deleting the corresponding mp4 file?

  <StartTime> and <EndTime> time formats?
Posted by: spinnaker - 2013-10-25, 01:21 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

Can someone tell me what the time format is for the <StartTime> and <EndTime> tags? Is that universal time? I assume the 0000000Z following the seconds is fractions of seconds? Any tips in outputting this time using the .Net DateTime class? Or do I meed to use the brute force method? Smile

  3.1.1 Playback\Recording Issues
Posted by: z06racer66 - 2013-10-24, 11:01 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I just recently upgraded to 3.1.1 + patches through #8 and now I am having problems watching recorded shows. They play fine up until about the 30 minute mark (not sure if this is related to the timing info thread). Then it will freeze and eventually just go back to the recordings menu. Attached are two logs with two different recordings that this happened to (new recordings since the upgrade to 3.1.1). I watched another recording that was recorded prior to the upgrade and that appears to playback fine in 3.1.1. I then tried one of the problem recordings on another computer that is currently running 2.6.2 and that recording also freezes and then goes back to the recordings menu. I *think* it stopped at the same location but I wasn't paying close attention to it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

How many streams can you get going to clients?!
Posted by: haverer2 - 2013-10-24, 04:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi, I know, I know... it'll depend on your bandwidth!!

Let's assume that my nextPVR server box is connected via gigabit to a gigabit switch.... How many clients could practically demand to watch different channels (assuming tuners available to satisfy).... PC is nice and powerful... Quad Core 12GB RAM 3.2 processor - 64bit windows 7

Watched HD live TV over my wireless last night and there was no problem streaming that - very impressed - great program - thanks sub :-)

??
Thanks,
John

There seems to be odd activity, 900 users online and counting all on the 1.1.5 announcement thread.

Vertical yellow stripe on live tv and recordss
Posted by: kh6gmp - 2013-10-23, 05:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Im am running Nextpvr and using NEWA and XBMC. On the PC thats running NPVR I have a strange problem and Ive not been able to fine anything in the forum that addresses it. I can watch over the LAN with NEWA or XBMC and get perfect video and audio. I can play recordings over the LAN and video and audio are perfect. My problem is with the computer that NPVR is installed on. On live TV or the recordings when trying to play back I get good picture and audo but there is a vertical yellow stripe in the center of the video window. I have tried every combination of decoders/encoders/renderer that I can it its still the same problem (only on that one computer). The OS is Windows 7 and the graphics card is intel onboard. Im using a Hauupage 950 and looking at analog cable. Its obvious its somethingwrong with the display adapter or display on that one computer because using NEWA over the LAN I can see live or recorded TV all OK, but I have never been able to fix it. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this yellow vertical stripe in the video window when I go LIVE or playing back a recording????? Thanks for any help.

Blank screen on multiple DVB-T channels.
Posted by: trummel - 2013-10-23, 02:09 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I'm having problems keeping my newly upgraded 3.1.1 server running. I have multiple DVB-T tuners, they all scan correctly. but a large percentage of channels will produce a blank screen when viewed in live TV and about 50% of the time result in a hang of NPVR on the server, followed by an unable to communicate with device message. Recordings seem to produce a small unplayable file.

The results are inconsistent between channels, for instance ITV1 and 2 play perfectly, but ITV3 will play once, but crash the tuner on exit, requiring a restart of the recording service to fix. Home and BBC3 HD will both give a blank screen and crash the server immediately.

I cant see any obvious correlation between the channels that work and those that don't. Some are SD, others are HD. They are also on various frequencies and all tuners.

I've disabled all devices apart from one and recorded a short program segment. I've attached the resultant file together with some uncluttered logs.

I suspect more information is going to be required to get to the bottom of this, but if anyone can take a quick look and tell me what else might be needed, I'd be most grateful.

I've only applied the unmanaged.dll patch that was for the PCTV 290E.

The same tuner and channels work fine in PCTV's TVcenter.

WAF isn't an issue anymore, as she has refused to use it at all and now watches FTA TV on a TV in the spare room :-(

Everything is working except one channel
Posted by: Jooced - 2013-10-23, 01:28 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

3.11 is working great for me but I'm having an issue with one station (11-1 KARE-HD). I can't view it and any recording is always 0 bytes. This is an OTA station and I know I get a good signal (verified by going directly to the TV with the same cable). I'm guessing this is a codec issue but I'm at a loss and feel like I've tried everything.

My system is Windows 8.1 and I had the same problem with Windows 8.

Has anyone else seen an issue similar to this and what did you do to fix it?

  TV Listings 3.7.0 released
Posted by: alibert - 2013-10-23, 06:45 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Hi,

I've just uploaded version 3.7.0 of the TVListings plugin at the wiki.

Changelog:

Quote:- added logic to activate listings screen during video playback on F1 key if plugin is configured as default guide
- added changes to TheMovieDB integration to reflect upcoming API changes
- upgraded to .NET 4.0 for NPVR 3

Please note the following when upgrading:
  • There's no need to overwrite an existing "TV Listings.db" database file during upgrade
  • There are no skin changes in this release, so you may just replace the TV Listings.dll file when upgrading
  • There are no further changes since the previousyl announced beta release (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...stings-3-7
