Windows failure, new installation, I can't seem to log in to configure the server. I just want to scan for channels! I suspect if I log out here I won't be able to log back in. I changed the password I was sent in my control panel but got no verification.
I just need to scan for some channels. I want my mommie!
When I try to play the channel I get the following error; Streaming Failed (transcoder exited).
The URL is correct, but obviously I'm not doing something right.
Log files are attached.
I updated to the latest 6.1.4 version and it's running fine.
One thing I noticed is that instead of a 10 second skip in the video when I use the right arrow key, it now brings up a small video strip which highllights different times within the video in 10 second intervals.
Is it possible to use the old function of just skipping the video forward 10 seconds?
How can I program this?
Thanks.
So, I finally went ahead and loaded the new version of NextPVR from my prior version of 4.?
I have used NextPVR in my Kodi HTPC for the past 7 years (I originally ran TVheadend) and it has been flawless.
Anyways, I loaded the new version and it did not bring over my previously recorded programs. I set the folder to the same, etc... Tried to import them but to no avail.
I did recover them in my Kodi by assigning them into a separate media source so its not that I lost them completely.
Any help? I did have to uninstall my prior version of NextPVR completely because the new version would not load until I did so (error message).
I realize that its no big deal but the OCD tech geek in me wants it to blend in (yes, I'm the guy who will keep tweaking his Linux and Windows programs until they look and operate with everything).
Other than that the new version works fantastic so far.
On my Linux box I have two recordings going. One is an NHRA race and the other is an MLB game. When observing the CPU usage I noticed that it seemed quite high. Using Webmin I looked at the processes running and noticed with the NHRA recording, ffmpeg was much higher than the MLB recording. According to Webmin the NHRA event ffmpeg was using 77% CPU usage. But the MLB game ffmpeg was only using 11%.
The NHRA recording is using the Tablo tuner and the MLB game is using an HDHR Connect tuner.
Here are gui pics of the processes for each recording.
So, my question is, why is ffmpeg CPU usage so much higher on the NHRA recording?
Thanks for your continued work on NextPVR. Today I installed the latest release and was pleased to find seeking in the web player much improved! Some of my recordings would seek incorrectly in the web player and Kodi. I was working on that issue in my spare time this week when I noticed the new release was available. I was very pleased that after installing the release the problem disappeared on my test video while using the web player. I haven't tried Kodi yet but will later this evening.
I suspect the root cause of my issue has something to do with dropped packets or corrupt timestamps in the recording but whatever you did it appears to tolerate it very nicely now.
Hi. Upgraded recently to 6.1.4.230625 and have some new odd behaviour.
Firstly, additional files in the recordings folder. I now have .timings .map and .thumbnails files for each recording. These are for both in progress recordings (expected) and completed recordings (not expected).
This latest version is also locking the last recording so the files can not be copied without restarting the NPVR service to release the lock. The locked files are .ts and .timings
I do not have the 'keep digital tuners primed' box ticked.
As I have said in previous posts, I have copied all of my DVD's and imported them into NextPVR. Many TV series programs have well over 100 and 200 episodes. I have all but the latest season of one series that has over 300 episodes. Another series I only have two seasons of, but have intentions of getting the rest, resulting in 421 and counting episodes. Point is that is a lot of scrolling.
Is it possible to add a feature to group all the episodes from a season together and make the groups collapsible? Kind of like putting all episodes of season 1 into a folder, all episodes of season 2 into a folder, all episodes of season 3 into a folder etc.
For example instead of
Series Name 1
Season 1 Episode 1
Season 1 Episode 2
Season 1 Episode 3
Season 1 Episode 4
Season 1 Episode 5
.
.
.
.
Season 1 Episode 21

Season 2 Episode 3

Season 2 Episode 5
.
.
.
Season 2 Episode 21
Season 2 Episode 22
Season 2 Episode 23
Season 2 Episode 24
Season 2 Episode 25
Would become

Opening Season would result in

The Desktop App (version 6.1.4 (230625)) is unable to play UK DVB Radio Stations such as BBC Northampton or BBC Cambridgeshire or BBC There Counties Radio which are encoded at 80kbps MP2 Mono no matter which Decoder I select including LAV, The best it will do is show the Radio station has been opened in the Show Status window and the file is displayed in the live buffer directory which is playable in any external player. At worst is starts downloading the .ts file with no sound the file and then stops a one or two seconds later.
This issue does not occur playing radio stations such as BBC Radio 1 which are encoded at 192kbps MP2 Stereo and does not affect the mono stations if they are played back using the Web App which will play back the audio trans coded in MPEG4 including a video stream at 2000kbps which therefore wastes bandwidth and CPU power, so I'd rather the stations play in the Desktop app.
