I'm using UK OTA EPG with nextpvr but have an issue identifying New programmes in the EPG, this results in a lot of scheduled recordings that I need to prune every day.
I've noticed that nextpvr marks everything as New, and have searched this forum and noted that the reason for this is that nextpvr will do that if it cant get the programmes new status from the guide data. That all makes sense, however I have used the same setup with tvheadend for many years and that did seem to figure out which programmes were new:
With tvheadend on LE using kodi, the EPG would show "New: " appended to the front of programmes that were actually new, is it worth investigating how they are doing this?
I know I could pay to have better quality EPG, but it's bugging me that tvheadend could somehow get the new status of programmes via the UK OTA EPG?
I have installed NextPVR v5 on my Windows 10 PC and I want to change the recording directory to a different drive. I have tried to edit the config.xml file in the NextPVR data directory, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. The recordings are still saved in the default C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Recordings folder. How can I change the recording directory in NextPVR v5?
I installed the nlite client on my Windows 11 laptop. It connects to the same network as my NextPVR machine. I can contact the machine via the web interface, and watch TV that way fine. But, when I start Nlite it says "No NextPVR servers were detected on the network". When I close that dialog, I get a Microsoft .NET Framework Unhandled exception report as follows

I tried a do a search to see how to input an external recording (Outside of NextPVR) into NextPVR for viewing but came up empty. Perhaps I am using the wrong search word.
Does anyone have an answer to direct me in the right direction.

In this thread, BlockShutdownForExtraSecondsAfterRecording was used to allow NPVRTray.exe to make a power request to keep the server awake while watching live TV or making a recording (and a few minutes after).
Yesterday while watching a 30 min recording from kodi over LAN the server hibernated twice freezing playback in kodi (hibernate after is 10 min on the Win 11 NextPVR server).
Today I checked with powercfg /requests and the NextPVR server makes absolutely no power request during the kodi remote playback resulting in Win11 putting the server to sleep mid-playback.
It would be great if the NextPVR service or tray app made the same power request during playback, including BlockShutdownForExtraSecondsAfterRecording, as it already does for live TV and recordings.
To anyone willing to help... here is my setup and what I have done so far:
* NextPVR backend latest version installed on a Raspberry Pi 4 running bullseye with latest updates
* Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD directly connected to the Pi's USB 2 port
* All channels have been scanned on both tuners
* Schedules Direct is working and updating the EPG for all the channels
* Latest version of Kodi on Google Chromecast with Google TV (HD)
* Latest version of NextPVR Client for Kodi on above
When going to TV in Kodi, then either choosing a channel from the EPG or Channels, there is a delay, then a popup "Playback failed, One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message."
I have tried many other channels from EPG and Channels and same message. The actual WinTV-dualHD tuner LED shows the signal is strong. There seems to be a streaming issue.
My wife has decided that she really likes the PBR (Pro bull riding), and most shows are covered exclusively by Pluto Ride pass, so I'm trying to get the Pluto extra working so I can record with NextPVR. I followed Martin's/Sub's instructions here:
Everything seems to install OK and I have the EPG up and running, but when I try to stream anything, I get the dreaded "Steaming failed (transcoder exited)". A quick debug of streamlink gives me this:
I'm moving soon to a rural location were cable and fiber aren't an option yet. OTA is marginal so we're looking for a viable alternative. Can folks in the US recommend a good (and legal) IPTV provider that works well with NextPVR? I didn't find much with a search of the forum.
I bought a quad SAT>IP tuner several years ago but although NextPVR detects the tuners it will not “Tune” them. I now use them with TVheadend just to watch live TV.
After one of my PCi DVB-S2 tuners recently failed I setup a NextPVR test server to investigate the problem. With a clean install of Windows, NextPVR and EPG Collector which I use for the EPG, NextPVR is able to tune the SAT>IP tuners and finds all expected channels. However if I copy over the database from the live server the tuners no longer work so I return to using the new clean database. So that is one problem to investigate later but that file is many years old so may have gained some corruption so will work with the new file for now!
The EPG data is collected using EPG Collector to download the Freeview (DVB-T) and the dedicated Freesat EPG using the existing EPG Collector setup files from the live server. The only change made is that the Freesat.ini file is changed to use a specific SAT>IP tuner. If I run UpdateEPG.bat manually both EPG files are created. If I now click Update EPG at the bottom of the first Settings page UpdateEPG.bat runs but the Freesat EPG file is not created. NextPVR now starts scanning several DVB-T and DVB-S frequencies and says it has added almost 9000 EPG entries.
If UpdateEPG.bat is run in or by NextPVR the satellite scan fails with “No Tuner Found” error but the DVB-T scan works as normal! If I run updateEPG.bat the SAT>IP tuner is found and the Freesat EPG data file is created!

First post here. I'm formally a HDHomeRun user, and new to the NextPVR world. I've been a Kodi user, because of how simple I can turn an old computer into a device that can do OTA Tv and make it all seem like it's like an expensive set top box. But my HDHR decided it wanted to die. I saw the Tablo devices, and thought it would be cool to upgrade and add DVR functionality (since HDHR seems to have a subscription). Originally doing my research, I thought Tablo had a plugin for Kodi, but I did not dive deep enough into the research it seems. Though I would really like to get my Tablo working. I know that NextPVR is a plugin that looks to work with Kodi, so here I am.
I'm an armature tech person, thought I might be able to figure this out. I have tried installing both Win11 Pro (64bit) and Ubuntu Server 22.04 (using the full install, I tried with minimal and ran into other issues). I downloaded the 'TabloTV-2.0.5.zip', extrated the 4 files, and uploaded it to both systems in the corresponding NextPVR folder location. I seem to be able to get everything installed, get the files copied over, and run the setup. Both boxes are returning that it looks like trying to access the Tablo device returns an "Unauthorized" 401 error:

Am I missing a step? I thought maybe it was my OS, that's why I tried both just to make sure. Now that both are returning thee same thing, I am wondering if maybe my device is too new and/or an updated firmware release is why this is happening. I wanted to check if anyone else has run into any issues? I've been looking at this all weekend. And rebuilt the OSes a couple of times to make sure I was not missing something or made a mistake and got the same results. Hoping for a fresh pair of eyes to point out my mistakes, I can be more detailed of my steps taken to do the installs, but was hoping with the above error someone might know where to go from here.
Or tell me it doesn't work and I have to wait for the Tablo team to push out the app for my Tv. Currently using Bluestacks to install the TabloTv app to get it to work, but it's SOOOO clunky. Plus I'm liking what I see can be done with NextPVR, was hoping to get comfortable and start using it with my setup.
