TV Guide, View Live doesn't work. Problem with address?
Posted by: WKleeven - 2013-06-30, 08:59 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (14)

I'm having trouble with View Live in TV Guide. When I'm on internal network (client), when I click "View Live" on channel 2, a small windows explorer screen opens with the address (which seems to be vlc player within an explorer window):
which obviously doesn't work (it hangs with "Idling...")

When I copy the last piece of the address ("http://192.168.2.100:8866/live?channel=2") and paste it in vlc (open network stream), it plays just fine. I think the address is wrong. What to do?

Wim
p.s. I also have problems streaming outside the network, will start another thread for that.

HVR 1700 - help needed with analog side
Posted by: mattyb - 2013-06-29, 07:12 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I've recently installed a Hauppauge HVR 1700, to replace the HVR 1200 and PVR 150 in my system.

I can get the DVB-T side of the 1700 working fine, but can't seem to get the Analog side going. I have a feed from a set top box (Sky Digital here in NZ) into the S-Video port and RCA inputs for the audio.

The analog device is not showing in the Devices screen.

I have installed WinTV7 so I have the SoftPVR components.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Cannot setup device Ceton InfiniTV 4
Posted by: johnnykilo - 2013-06-28, 04:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

New to NPVR and I am looking to use it for a backend with XMBC. I installed the application and when I try to add my device but I cannot. Should NPVR automatically detect the device? Or do I have to add it manually? If i have to add it manually the Setup Device button is grated out. Also when I right click and select Setup Device nothing happens. I have confirmed the Windows Device Manager has detected the device. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with a PCIe Ceton InfiniTV 4. I did not install the network drivers during the set up. Screen shot is attached. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Added HVR1700 and crippled PC??
Posted by: mattyb - 2013-06-28, 08:19 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but thought I'd start here as I know the NPVR community is always helpful Smile

I recently bought a Hauppauge HVR 1700 to add to my system (in signature), as I want it to replace the PVR 150 so I can install more than 4GB RAM - due to a known issue with the 150.

However it's resulted in some bizarre behaviour in the PC. Because of the SSD the system normally boots and is free to use in about 30 seconds - now with the HVR 1700 in a PCIE slot it's taking about 3-5 minutes before it's usable. All I've done is plug the board into the slot and it seems to cripple the PC - CPU goes up to 100%.

I've never seen this before so not sure where to start - does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Anyone using an OUYA with XBMC
Posted by: dinki - 2013-06-27, 09:16 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (8)

I just purchased an OUYA with hopes of making it an XBMC front-end with NPVR as my PVR back-end. I loaded the Gotham LibStageFright apk and was immediately greeted with a messaging saying NPVR PVR addon is 'broken' as was all the other PVR addons. Has anyone had any luck with getting a version of XBMC on an OUYA that has PVR functionality?

  Pause Live TV
Posted by: McBill - 2013-06-27, 08:56 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - No Replies

Hi all. I am running NPVR 1.6.4 with Frodo on Windows Vista ( OK, stop laughing...Linux won't recognise my USB Tuner ). Overall, I am impressed with NPVR but have encountered a couple of glitches. When viewing Live TV I am unable to pause or rewind even though time-shifting is enabled. I've noticed that this was a problem previously but was under the impression this had been addressed. Am I doing something wrong (aside from the entire Vista issue)?

  Which user to install as?
Posted by: boringgit - 2013-06-27, 07:59 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Sorry - second post in a few minutes, but experience tells me its better to put different issues in different posts Smile

I currently have a problem where if I log onto the PC running Nextpvr (I'm running on a little HP Microserver so I only access over RDP), the little status windows pop up showing whatever is recording now, but after I'm done and log off - it then kills the status windows and the recordings also die. I'm logging in as the admin user - the same user I was using when I installed Nextpvr.

I have a few issues, so I'm going to install the OS again - should I create a new user - install Nextpvr as that user, but then access it using another user? will that even work?

Sorry - it's quite obvious that most people are using this on desktop OS's - but I work with servers so this is more in my comfort zone Smile

Cheers!

Series Links - Formula 1 in particular
Posted by: boringgit - 2013-06-27, 07:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi All,

I suspect this is simply a limitation of using freely available guide data as opposed to paid for sources, but it can't hurt to ask Smile

Anything which has a uniform name series links wonderfully, but the only sport I watch, Formula 1 isnt particularly uniform and therefore it never records automatically. The BBC naming tends to be Formula One: The Canadian Grand Prix etc, so not miles apart, but apparently however the recordings are worked out doesnt like it.

Does anybody know of a way to automatically catch this, or do I have to remember to record it in advance?

Cheers!

  Channel change delays and codecs
Posted by: jaipal2004 - 2013-06-27, 09:24 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi,

I am experiencing slow channel switching with my NextPVR server running on a HP36L (1.3Ghz, 3GB RAM, HD5450 GPU) and XBMC on a Raspberry Pi. It takes upto 25-30 second to get a HD stream and when changing channels it can take up to 10 seconds (SD).

I've not installed the codec packs on the server yet and will do so today (SAF unlocked ones) - could this be the reason I'm experiencing delays in the change change?

  Multiple streams
Posted by: CORRUPT27 - 2013-06-27, 03:15 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Question? Can i watch 2 different channels on my npvr from a remote pc/ android in my case? I currently have an HDHOMERUN HD Prime and it has 3 tuners. I have 2 tablets both android and both running vlc. Well i can watch the same stream with no issues, such as both vlc are watching http://myipaddress:8866/live?channel=2. But is there a way that i can watch a different tuner on the other tablet? So we can watch 2 different channels maybe like channel 5? thank you
