I think my pvr-350 is stuck and will not release after a recording. I don't get Live TV as I get "Unable to communicate with the recording service". Also, if I try a manual recording, it never starts recording, although I was able to record a couple of programs before it stopped. I have WinTV7 and that still shows live TV. I have log files & hope that someone can take a look.
One more thing, in a previous post, some one mentioned a Config.XML file and I never found one in a NextPVR directory. Is this ok?
I just installed XMBC 12.2 followed by nextPVR to integrate my tuner TV card (Hauppage WinTV 4400), scanned the (analog) channels. It found about 25 channels on the analog Hauppauge WinTV 885 Video Capture device
But I can not watch TV: live TV, "please wait", black screen
Please see the 2 log files Nrecord and NVPR
Please note that windows media center or winTV are working without any problems;my system is windows 7
Trying to find the default data directory so I can place my downloaded channel icons to be read by the EPG. Running Windows XP SP3. Wiki says the directory should be found under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR but I have not been able to locate any such file. My program directory is in the proper place (C:\Program Files\NPVR), but can't find the data directory. Suggestions?
I can't find anything that tells me how this thing works, what I need to do to get it working etc. All the beginner's stuff. I've read thru your forums, have no idea what you're talking about and I can't find any basic/intro pages to get me started. You guys are talking a language that I don't understand. I want to do this, but I've got to start at the beginning. I'm sure that someone is going to say, well, why didn't you post this here or there, or why didn't you read this or that. Save your breath. I want to do it right, I just need a hand getting started. Thanks for your help. js
I am looking to upgrade from using Media Center to a combination of NPVR and XBMC but I am having problems getting the tuner to work in NPVR. I have a Blackgold BGT3650 Quad HD Tuner installed which works fine with Freeview signals under Media Centre.
When I go through the setup procedure the tuners are all listed but when I attempt to scan for channels I just get the message "Unable to start device: Device failed to start"
I have made sure that Media Center is not running at the time, but I don't really want to uninstall it completely just yet until I have the new setup working.
I have also installed all the patches as recommended in the sticky.
The machine is running Windows 7 Pro 64bit, Intel i5 quad 3.1Ghz, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 1GB Video Card. The only other software on the machine is Sophos Anti Virus, Cyberlink PowerDVD (which is useless for Blu-ray which is why I want to move to XBMC), AnyDVD(HD), XBMC, Unified Remote, PC Remote.
It would be nice to put a quick recording option (of the program watching) in the right click menu. Then should be there another option how long the recording will take - 30min, 1hour, 2 hour, 3 hour, 4 hour. Simple and easy, no hassle with epg.
Hi great program, have got it working ok, can do basically anything I want, schedule recordings from tv guide etc. but cannot watch anything from recordings screen, I can play all my recordings from the video screen though, it just says "cannot play video" "sorry this video cannot be played" which is pretty much a generic dialog, any suggestions from anyone??
should add this is all on a wifi home network
First time user of NextPVR as a backend for XBMC. I have been moving along swimmingly getting everything set up until hitting a brick wall getting channel numbers to display correctly in the EPG. I am using an HDHomerun Dual for OTA signals in Atlanta and Schedules Direct for EPG. Everything seems to have set up properly as I am getting accurate info in my EPG. The issue is that channel numbers are displayed in the EPG by the general number given to the station by order of detection during the digital channel scan and not by OTA channel number (2.1, 2.2, 5.1, 11.1, 11.2, etc.) even though each channel was manually mapped (couldn't get bulk mapping to work).
What am I doing wrong that is not allowing each channel to be displayed by its OTA channel number in the EPG, instead displaying it by its general number?
