  Not streaming some recordings
Posted by: fuzzweed - 2013-06-15, 09:07 AM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (5)

It seems that some files selected through the recordings view won't stream to my android phone. The only possible pattern I can find is that it doesn't like kids programs, which I guess could translate to programs of 10-15 mins or less. the weird twist to this is that I can navigate to the same file through the video menu and it will play fine.
no logs as it happened at kiddy bedtime, but reproducible - what do you need?

Do NPVR recordings show up in XBMC TV Shows library?
Posted by: dinki - 2013-06-14, 06:31 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (5)

Quick question. I'm hoping to switch from SageTV to NPVR and use NPVR as my TV backend for live viewing and schedule recorder. Do the recordings created by NPVR show up in the native 'Tv Shows' library in XBMC or are they only available in the NPVR addon within XBMC?

Also, is the addon ready for daily use or is it still experimental? Is it pretty stable?

  Client NPVR problem
Posted by: jd1940 - 2013-06-14, 06:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I've given up on the live tv problem for now, intending to either reinstall Win7 or put a new htpc online. But, in working on trying to get a client version of NPVR running on the htpc I've run into the problem that it doesn't seem to remember any settings I change. I completely deleted the first installation, including manually removing all files on the C drive in both locations. I then rebooted the pc and then installed NPVR. I did not start the record function. I went to devices, checked the client box and then entered my office pc (server) name and the server address for the database file. Closed out that screen to see what happened and the result was nothing, no tv connection, no music or video files. So, I went back to the devices tab and none of the changes I had made were still there. The client box was unchecked and the server and database addresses were back to the 'hushpc' entry. Why is it doing this? I can see the server pc through NPVR (settings for file folders, which revert to a C. address as soon as I close that screen. I'm attaching the log files for the client pc in the hopes someone can tell me what I'm missing.

Nightly Compatible build with genre support?
Posted by: tungmeister - 2013-06-14, 12:24 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - No Replies

Hi guys, does anyone have a build based off version 1.6.5 of the add on that's compatible with the latest nightlies of XBMC? I've been able to find an older build of 1.6.5 but it doesn't function as it hasn't been updated to the latest PVR API changes within XBMC.

Problem after June 2013 Windows Updates
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2013-06-14, 10:12 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Has anyone else had problems after installing the June updates for Windows 8 ??

On Wednesday morning I installed the Updates in 2 batches - the first batch went ok but the second batch (2 dot net 3.5 patches and KB2821895 not automatically ticked on the first run) - on restart while configuring updates crashed out and restarted the computer for a second time, but then installed.

On Wednesday night we set a recording and went to bed. On coming down in the morning the HTPC's lights were on but nobody was home - in the end only a reset got the thing to reboot upon which it configured the updates again. The recorded program had the red recording service stopped during recording message and was about 40 mins short - obviously the logs just stopped.

Exactly the same thing happened last night.

On doing a google search I have found that a lot of people are having problems with KB2821895 and once it has installed there is no way to uninstall it

According to this article http://www.winbeta.org/news/kb2821895-up...-resources The fix is to run

Code:
DISM /Online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

from an elevated command prompt
Ive done that and will see if that fixes the problem - and will report back.

Any one else got any bright ideas?

error message "the tuner you were using was required for a recording....
Posted by: dsb7media - 2013-06-12, 07:46 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (17)

I am brand new to this as I just installed npvr. First a little information. I am running win7 in the US and I access TV via OTA. The tuner that I have is the 2 tuner HDHOMERUN which has both ATSC and QAM turners. My first problem was that when I tried to scan the QAM channels nothing was found. This drove me crazy for a while but I decided to scan the ATSC channels even though there are none in my area. To my surprise the system registered 55 channels, some of these do not exist. Now to the problem. I just wanted to test the live tv function which is when I get the above error message. I have no clue as to why since I have not and am not recording. My only choice was to exit. Thanks.

Windows SBS 2011 - No Device listed
Posted by: pauliolio - 2013-06-12, 07:31 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Hi,

I have a Pinnacle 320e hybrid (digital & analogue tuners) stick which shows up fine in the OS, but doesn't show up in NextPVR.
Although it works fine with Windows Media Centre, it's a pretty old device, so I went out today & bought a new one.
I've seen a lot of people say that Hauppauge's work well with NextPVR so I bought a Hauppauge WinTV-Duet (2 digital tuners), but guess what - That doesn't show up either...

Have I just been unlucky in having two unsupported devices, or is there some configuration step I need to do?

Many thanks for any help,
Paul

  HDHR3 via http
Posted by: mvallevand - 2013-06-11, 02:24 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I found this link for the Silicon Dust Prime http://adamcooperwood.com/blog/hdhr-prim...index.html and was wondering if the same http access is also available on the HDHR3 or is that the Prime only? I am considering purchasing an HDHR3 ($80 including shipping) and using one tuner outside NextPVR for streaming directly to avoid powering my NextPVR backend and general issues with rolling files and client lockups.

Martin
