  Dual ATI HD750's Don't Work
Posted by: pal123 - 2013-05-31, 03:42 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I purchased a 2nd ATI HD 705 (Diamond) and I can't get it to recognize the QAM from the 2nd device. I only sees the Analog. Even with 2 analogs, I can't record 2 programs at once. Any ideas? Logs attached. Thanks

Hauppauge DCR-2650 not detected by system
Posted by: hummvee2134 - 2013-05-30, 07:47 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hey folks,

I recently installed NPVR however my DCR-2650 cable-card tuner isn't showing up in the list of devices. I've read about other NPVR systems that are working fine with this tuner so i must be missing something simple here.

I'm currently using the device with windows media center and it's working well (drivers installed properly etc.). I've also made sure media center isn't using the tuner at the same time npvr is attempting to detect it.

I've gone through the pre-requsite checklist to make sure everything is installed on the system. I've also gone through the softpvr/wintv7 installation (no cd workaround) in the knowledge base. I know this is a digital tuner but i was just trying stuff.

I've tried to due my due diligence and have a good Google search and search through the forums but wasn't able to find much else than the above. i appoloize in advance if i missed anything and greatly appreicate any help you guys can provide.

I've attached a set of logs to the thread. the very last thing i did before pulling the logs was open the devices page.

Thanks in advance.
-Jake

  saf6 unlocked
Posted by: Grampz - 2013-05-30, 04:44 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I have the unlocked saf6 package installed but the cyberlink decoders are not showing up in npvr. Previously I had installed PDVD12 hoping the decoders would show up, but that didn't work either. Is there something that I am missing? On Win7

Thanx, Greg

  Single Folder for all Recordings?
Posted by: DanGilbertTX - 2013-05-30, 04:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I searched in the forum, but haven't seen this question asked before. What I am looking to do is to have all my recordings go to a single folder. Currently I have a single directory selected under Recording Directories. However, when a show is recorded, it put's the resulting .ts in a sub-folder named after the show. Is there any way to change this behavior to not create a directory for each show and just use the root directory for all recordings?

Recurring Recordings Import Issue after channel changes
Posted by: baj1 - 2013-05-29, 09:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Okay, after getting bent-over twice in one week by Comcast with frequency shuffles, I think I have all my stations back in order.

However as you might expect, my recurring recordings are all messed up.

I did an export, then deleted all recurring and pending recordings in NPVR, then did an import.

This fixed some but not all the recurring recordings. Several were still identified as being on the old channel number (NPVR channel number), some on the new. Maybe this is because some of the channels still exist, they just belong to a different station now. I looked at the recurring-backup.xml file but could not identify the differences between the ones that got corrected and the ones that did not.

For example, Law & Order: SVU (KARE-HD) shows up in recurring-backup.xml as ChannelOID 7188 and imports to the new (correct) channel number 361. But Grimm (KARE-HD), also showing ChannelOID 7188 in recurring-backup.xml, imports at the old channel number, 353. I have several examples of this in my setup.

I pasted this example below if it helps.

  No S3 Sleep!!
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2013-05-29, 04:28 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I’ve just invested in an HP Microserver to become my NextPVR server and found that it only supports S4 Hibernation. The slower server start up time after WOL is only a minor irritation because my client start up script already waits for the server to be fully on line before starting NextPVR. The main problem is going to be the occasional missed Wakeup to start a recording happening during the now much longer Hibernation process. It takes 2 ½ minutes during which time its deaf to any wakeup command! The problem of missed Wakeups keeps cropping up. One work around mentioned would be to prevent sleep/hibernation if a recording is due to start within around 10 minutes.

My plan is at the end of a recording to run a script to check if another recording is due to start within the next say 10 minutes. If the answer is “yes” then start a batch file which does nothing except run counting down 900 seconds. SmartPower is able to prevent sleep/hibernation if any of a number of settings are true, one of which is if a specified process is running. I hope to prevent the server going to sleep/hibernation while this batch file is running by which time the next recording will already started. Has anyone got a better solution?

  No playback (black screen)
Posted by: aseibert - 2013-05-29, 12:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I am not able to play any of the recordings in NPVR. I'm just getting a black screen when I attempt to play anything. This just started all of a sudden a few days ago. I have not installed or changed anything on the machine for several months. It appears that Windows did an update (Win 7 64 bit) at about the same time though. IE 10 was installed along with a couple of Windows updates. I'm attaching a log.

  NPVR freeze when navigating videos
Posted by: ttfitz - 2013-05-28, 04:50 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

I've been having this problem for a while now, only just had it happen when I was free to grab logs and such - so, I have a new media-pc setup with NPVR in addition to my old setup on my main computer in my office. On the media-pc attached to the TV, I access my main computer recordings via a network link through the Videos menu. Sometimes when navigating through the video files, NPVR will freeze.

In the log attached, I had gone into the Once Upon a Time folder, and hit the DOWN button to move to the video I wished to view. The selection bar moved down, but the description box showed the previous entry, and I was frozen solid - had to kill the process with the task manager.

Thanks.
