  Recurring recordings - Keep "x"
Posted by: jghanisco - 2013-05-28, 12:07 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I've had this for a while, but since I'm leaving on a vacation, it looks like it may haunt me a bit by using up my free space. I have set up some recurring recordings to keep only 1 or 2 recordings of the shows. NPVR realizes this, and removes the older recording from the database. But it doesn't delete the recording, so I am stuck with a growing use of my hard drive, even though it appears that NPVR has removed the recording. The npvr.log file shows this:

2013-05-27 11:00:03.087 [DEBUG][9] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: database file change detected, starting schedule update timer.
2013-05-27 11:00:03.264 [DEBUG][9] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: database file change detected, increasing schedule update timer interval.
2013-05-27 11:00:03.406 [DEBUG][9] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: database file change detected, increasing schedule update timer interval.
2013-05-27 11:00:06.419 [DEBUG][17] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: update procedure starting.
2013-05-27 11:00:06.542 [DEBUG][17] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: updated '[7402] Property Virgins [4359056] (c_7259, 5/27/2013 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM)'.
2013-05-27 11:00:06.544 [DEBUG][17] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: removing '[7401] Property Virgins [4359053] (c_7259, 5/27/2013 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM)'.
2013-05-27 11:00:06.544 [DEBUG][17] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: detected change in scheduled recordings.
2013-05-27 11:00:06.544 [DEBUG][17] TV Listings: RecordingSchedule: finished updating recording schedule, broadcasting changes.
2013-05-27 11:00:06.544 [DEBUG][17] TV Recordings: Panel: recording schedule changed, updating.

So it removes the older listing, but doesn't delete the recording. Is this how npvr works, or could there be something more at play where I should upload my logs?

  Channel Changer Arguments?
Posted by: Swift_gti - 2013-05-27, 11:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hi Guys,

I've been playing around with NPVR today and need to make use of the analog channel changer option for use with my HD PVR.
I currently use IRSS to do the blasting with Mediaportal and it works fine, but I'm running into a problem with NPVR.

My STB needs a togglebit sent between the digits so that repeating channel numbers (ie. 122) are reliable.
The default argument in the NPVR channel changer is {channel} (ie. the whole channel number in one) - IRSS has the ability with it's command line blaster program to either specify the channel number as;

-channel 122 (here IRSS splits the channel numbers and sends each digit separately)
1.IR 2.IR 2.IR (ie. I can specify the exact digits to send)

Now because of the requirement to send the togglebit in between each digit I can't just use {channel} as the argument in NPVR and let IRSS figure things out, since it won't send anything in between the digits.

Are there any 'variables' within NPVR other than {channel} ?
I'm after something like {digit1} {digit2} etc.. so that I can manually build my command with the togglebits in between.

Cheers!

npvr + hdhomerun prime - only using two tuners
Posted by: darkcody - 2013-05-27, 07:13 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

Any idea why npvr is only able to use 2 of the three tuners? All three are listed as devices in npvr settings, all listed as present and enabled with 315 channels.the channel list says each channel has 3 sources. Everything seems like it should work perfectly. And indeed it does, until I need the third tuner. npvr always delivers a "tuner unavailable" message when I try and use a third tuner for anything.

Even stranger, It's not always the same two tuners that get used. I've reordered the priority of the tuners in npvr and it uses whatever two tuners I list first...

I'm using xbmc as a front end to my nextpvr backend, but the same behavior is observed using npvr as the front end. I'm also using three different computers (two running windows 7, and 1 raspberry pi with raspbmc), but the problem isn't device specific.

And finally, I can always use the HDhomerun config gui to directly view the unused tuner, and that works fine.

Live TV - audio but no video Win 7
Posted by: patp01 - 2013-05-27, 05:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I've installed NPVR for the first time under 64 bit windows 7 using Hauppauge 2250. Installation and channel selection went fine, however Live TV plays only sound - video is black. I've seen this on a few other posts (mostly XP), but none of the solutions have helped me. I've also installed the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder for H.264 patch with no success. Any ideas? I've attached the NPVR.log

No Recordings Listed in xbmc (npvr addon)
Posted by: darkcody - 2013-05-27, 04:26 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (10)

Hi all,

I can't get xbmc to see/list my recordings. It schedules them fine, and when I run npvr I can see the recordings and play them back. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

A-100/MVPMCX2 cannot handle corrupt .ts timeline
Posted by: agerdin - 2013-05-27, 10:10 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (1)

Martin,

I have had 2 Popcorn A-100 running MVPMCX2 with NVPR for several years and system is 100% reliable as long as the .ts timeline is ok. However, from time to time recordings end up with a corrupt time line and the MVPMCX2 goes totally unreliable. The file is most of the time playable but any ffw/skip operation results in a black screen requiring a hard reboot.

I have more or less learned to live with this but it is so annoying to otherwise such a perfect setup I thought at least I could ask if there is any solution or workaround to this?

  Pausing live TV
Posted by: Tre4Bax - 2013-05-27, 09:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

My wife pointed out to me the other day that there seems to be an issue with the pause facility on live TV.

If you use it for a couple of minutes all is usually fine, but occasionally it will leap to live TV when unpaused and you lose your place in the paused program. My wife however is in the habit of pausing and taking a phone call or something and 20 mins later unpausing. When you do this it is inevitable when unpaused it will jump to live and lose the part of the program.

I keep suggesting she records instead, but she got in this habit when using MCE and it worked fine. Is there a setting or something that changes the amount of time the buffer works for, or do I have an issue with my setup?

  MCE Remote power button
Posted by: Tre4Bax - 2013-05-26, 09:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Hi There,

When I was using WMC a push on this button would put my box to sleep, but not if WMC was actually recording something. In that instance it entered away mode and carried on recording. With NextPVR I have noticed that when I press this button the box just goes to sleep, regardless of what the recording services is doing. Is this something badly configured with my box? Or is this something that is on the plan to fix?

Currently I have disabled the power off button and I allow the box to cycle to sleep. This seems to take into account the activity of recording but feels less correct. Anybody know what I should do?

NPVR 2.62 TV Guide Not Working
Posted by: MortRe - 2013-05-26, 06:24 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Every entry states "no show details". How do I correct this? Is there a way to manually download TV listings? I have video and audio. Sad
